    Tropica plant growth specialised fertiliser

Please note, that very much light is given to first example and Mark states less light given to second example. This is why amount of fertiliser given is different. For easy understanding, think "car": upping light / stepping on gas pedal => using more ferts / using more petrol. - and yes...

    Non CO2 plants

Paulo already linked, the "Easy category". This is your list. please read defenition of "Easy category". Some plants on this list is "Carbonate users", some are extreemely good at utilising the little amount of CO2 allways present in water. These can all grow without added CO2 - but will do...

    Feedback Tropica Layout 81

( and better looking) Tropica is (ofcourse) checking forums, contests etc etc. on a regular basis - so we do have a pretty good idea about a scaper, before we ask "joined venture" on a specific tank. - and yes; the chosen scaper(s) is often invited to Denmark, to create the tank(s). The...

    Feedback Tropica Layout 81

Thank you, Jamie......... Most of my time is spend, testing - anything really - related to plants and products. I do a lot of tanks and scapes connected to testings - but those are not really designed to go on the www-inspiration list. This is how I learn about the plants and their...

    Feedback Tropica Layout 81

There were 4 x 45w. T5 - yes. Extra set of T5 were added to this tank (You can find it on Juwel's homepage). I should add, that reflectors were used, too. Tank was set up, using all original material as it comes with the tank - so yes; pump and filter-material is as delivered. - Viktor, Antoni...

    Limnophila hippuridoides

Yes - this plant has the tendency of becoming so dense, it block out light and flow. Solution (other than continue upping CO2), ofcourse is to (heavily) trim out, so light and flow can allways enter the group. The "Black Current Method" of trimming off 1/3 of group in each trimming works perfect...

    Limnophila hippuridoides

If you have another go at in vitro plants, my advice is to wash carefull off all gel. Divide material into bits of single or a few stems and plant rather deep. If possible, give it an open space with good light - at least to get it started growing. As you washed off the tiny plant-lets food...

    Limnophila hippuridoides

Lim.hipp. really is a lovely plant - I can understand, why you fell in love. I have actually never had problems, during testing of the plant - including testing material from the Lab. (= in vitro). It adapt readily to conditions of quite low to very bright light, and high or low addition of CO2...

    A little inspiration.

Thx. for the kind words, Paulo - I'm glad we actually agree. Tests are part of my job, and I do ofcourse use equipment to document measures and observations. I have 40+ years in this hobby........and honestly this is what bring the results, far more than any equipment. There is just no...

    A little inspiration.

Hi Paulo In this part of the forum, I'm actually allowed to comment on Tropica-related issues - so in this case, I will. I agree, that a lot of heavily photo-shopped pic.s are around - even in respected contests, I'm sad to say. To make general/all-covering conclusions on the fact, that YOU have...

Pets @ Home huge planted tank projects and event.

The New Malden- and the Stockport tanks are especially designed, to be foolproof (sorry for the expression, but that's what they are). They are basically identical twins, just adapted to size and shape of tank. Hardscape is maximum impact with minimum material, to secure flow and very low...

    A little inspiration.

Honestly (and I know others will have "secrets" to provide), I really believe it takes the same basic things to have success with red plants as with green ones : Ideal conditions !!! If you can grow perfect greens, you can usually grow perfect reds too !!! First of all, realize that "red...

    A little inspiration.

Hi Flygja. Thx for compliments...... The tank specifications are according to category "advanced" (red) in Tropica's 3 category system ( can be checked on homepage ). - I will say, though, that an important thing is to choose the exact plants, that fulfill your purpose. Take into...

First of all; thanks for appreciating :) Yep........(again;)), correct trimmng at correct time is IMO the second most important thing in good plant health (first one is environment). I'm a gardener/nursery-man.......... So I trim a lot:p. This tank is roughly 200 l. (very long, not very...
