ADA ferts dosing is pretty non-specific actually, they recommend that you start with 1 ml per 20 L per day but then say dose 2-3x as much as needed. It would be more helpful if they gave specific dose amounts of their website features like they do for CO2.

That Rotala doesn't look too bad to me but I agree that there could be an iron defiency. I have had this before but more severely and iron fixed it straight away.

If you can backlight the wall behind the tank with a LED light strip (I use lifx z) it might help increase your depth of field. It certainly works for me anyway with a 60 p tank and similar tank lighting. My tank is also a fair few cm away from the wall.

If the wood is moving due to buoyancy well after a week or two it should no longer float.

Yeah, not going to blend nicely if tank height is 45cm or more. Mine's 36 cm tall and probably wouldn't work above that.

Try get to epiphyte plants to go on and under the rock, at the moment the rock looks overwhelming.

Leave some rock weighing down the wood for a couple of weeks after filling the tank. That should do the trick. Otherwise cable tie some rock to the bottom.

Can't speak for Amano shrimp but Rednose Shrimp and NQ Algae Shrimp have done a lot of jumping onto my floor. Otocinclus have not dropped but will sometimes gulp air like a Corydoras. It isn't super common for Otoclincus to do this and in my experience if they keep doing it something could be wrong.

Did see some Grade S or A CRS and CBS on a German site posted on here so might go for them. I do already own Cherry shrimp though so could always put some in as well or just temp.

Looks fantastic, I work at maidenhead brighton and yes we don't stock anything NPK but your best bet would be TMC, as we most definitely deal with them. We have a small river reef running, nothing special really but it's a nice little jungle and nothing is used on it except liquid carbon.

Hey, wouldn't know differences between the different aquariums but I'm guessing that the LED light unit is different from the other two. As for the scape, it is now the same as the last pictures while I try and save up for the rest of the equipment I require.

Does it not come with an suction cups for the diffuser? I'll probably end up with the suction cup set anyway, although £14 is a bit steep. It is ADA though aha.

Yeah, Ideally I would like to use CO2, unless there is a problem with using it on a small tank.

Yeah thing is I got the equipment very cheap from work so would like to make use of it. Also I want to keep CRS so want to be careful because I could overdose and kill them. Also I thought HC doesn't grow well without CO2 or anything?

So today I added the AS Powder so the scape is finished. Still quite a bit of kit I need before I can start though, sort of along the lines of the following: Diffuser CO2 Bottle CO2 tubing and suction cups etc Tweezers, Scissors Drop Checker Ferts Plants Think that's all!

Put the powersand and normal grade aquasoil in today and I've been fiddling with scaping for a couple of hours or so. Not got very far though :P. Currently I've got what I believe to be my favourite candidate for my main rock. Not sure if it's any good or tall enough but it's the best I've got...

Just broken all the rock up, eventually I ended up with a tall but thin piece that I couldn't get the chisel to smash. However I took a more direct approach but just whacking it with the mallet and had more success. Hopefully the pieces aren't too similar.

Obvious problems are that the path is the wrong way round :P . Other than that I was also wondering if you were going to use graded gravel or something to ease the transition.

I've now bought the bottom right rock in the last picture. £7.03, not bad and it's nearly 3kg I think. Going to break it up tomorrow probably, might install the substrate soon, not the powder yet obviously.

Sounds like a lot of hard work.

Looks good and almost like a jungle. Although the sides aren't as tightly packed. You might want to get a plain background on the tank also.
