Small shrimp that don't breed in the aquarium?

I think shrimp have more character than most small fish and I find them far more interesting personally.

Small shrimp that don't breed in the aquarium?

Have a google around for Orange and Green Dwarf Shrimp... don't see them that often, but some Maidenheads get both from time to time, and breeding is unreported afaik :)

    10L Planted Low-Tech Shrimp Tank.. HELP! :)

You should give others a go. We've found NatureSoil to be better than AquaSoil in many ways, including no ammonia, firmer grains, and better growth.

    Orange shrimps

Haven't kept them for ages, but afaik not many have had success with breeding them. Try a google search

    amano fry?

And if you read the page I've linked to, there is a good chance they aren't Amano fry at all, as they simply wouldn't survive.

Introducing cherry shimp to my main tank

The diy method didn't work all that great for me, but I do find those kids anti-spill paint pots are perfect... Got mine in Tesco or Wilkos for like 50p http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4-X-NON-SPILL-PAI ... dZViewItem

Introducing cherry shimp to my main tank

If its heavily planted, you might be ok... I was hesitant with cherries in my main tank... started with ten, I now have about 50, and I never see any babies like I do in the shrimp tank, so they're managing to hide somewhere :)

    how many shrimp for 8gallon?

I'd make sure the tank is well established before adding 20 shrimp in one go though... leave the tigers on their own for a while to see how they get on :)

    how many shrimp for 8gallon?

What shrimp are we taking about here? LondonDragon, myself, and plenty of others have kept 300+ cherry shrimp in 15gal shrimp-only tanks with great success. Start off small and if they're happy, they'll breed.

    snowball shrimplets and amano adults

I wouldn't go that far... I've seen Amanos carry dead fish off for a late night munch... There is a vid on YouTube (I think) showing an Amano attacking a live neon tetra too :D And of course, they will eat their own kind should one fall.

    cant keep CRS!!!

I had problems with EasyCarbo in my shrimp tank. The HC loved it, but the shrimps hated it.

    Nice web site

If you google plant inverts though, you see a lot of people complaining about them :!: So I would be very careful shopping with them if I were in the USA. Make sure you do plenty of research beforehand. Great information resource though. ShrimpNow! used to be a busy little site, but its slowly...

Shrimp with eggs??? - With pics and video!!

Yup, females can vary in colour. Depends on their age too - they darken as they get older. Males tend to be more spotted red rather than a full red. The baby shrimlets don't need any special treatment as they eat the same foods as the adults and hide when feel threatened. Congrats :D

Should I add MTS?? - Yeay or Nay?

The only problem my MTS cause is with hairgrass - the buggers are forever uprooting it when they bury themselves, and when the entire foreground is covered, its hard to replant individual blades of grass.

    Amano shrimps going crazy!!

You could have a female ready to molt and mate. They should calm down in a day or two. If not, it could be an ammonia spike...

    Crystal Red Shrimp

I dose Garden Direct's Trace in my cherry shrimp tank, no deaths and all females are carrying eggs. Some small shrimplets have now been released also :D Crystals can be way fussier than Cherry's though... ShrimpNow! Are great for advice on shrimp :)

    Hydra

Most fish will happily make a meal of hydra. Its the fry and shrimplets that are at risk. I've kept fish for over ten years, and I'd never seen them before now. But as this is my first shrimp only tank, the hydra have no natural predators. I would introduce some fish, but I have about 30...

    Hydra

Apparently most medicines for hydra also harm shrimp. Although some people have had success with some brand of dog worming tablets  I need to look into this more. Yeah, I only noticed them when I turned the filter off to do a water change. The little buggers seem happy enough to swim...

    Hydra

No brine shrimp, just pleco algae tabs and tetra flake. They're quite big, I'm surprised I haven't noticed them sooner. I removed around 20-25 that were all around 1cm.
