    IAPLC 523 - Mighty Bush

Thanks for the kind words! It would be good to see it without the glosso across the front. It's a winner though, with or without. Have you thought about entering it into the iaplc?

    ADA Video - WOW!

I'd go as far to say that, that is incorrect (sorry Troi, no offence made by that)If you want a good read about low tech tanks, have a read of Diana walstads ecology of the planted aquarium. It's a heavy read at points, but a very good read. As Tom states, it's difficult to actually prove, but...

    ADA Video - WOW!

Diana Walstad in her book Ecology of the Planted Aquarium actually talks about the beneficial aspects of having anaerobic conditions under the substrate near the plant roots. She has around several inches of soil as the substrates in her tanks. The anaerobic bacteria will use most anything for...

    ADA Video - WOW!

This really is a myth, talking about anearobic build ups in substrates...yes there will be build ups, there is many theories out there that plant roots use these nasties. The main nasty that is in this build up is hydrogen sulfide, this is the most dangerous. However, In water, as soon as...

Adrie Baumann and Ian Holdich scape

A bit of self promotion (sorry guys), but I'm really impressed with the way this scape turned out. On a visit to Tropica in Denmark a few of us were set a challenge, this was to scape a tank in two hours. I was put with a German aquascaper called Adrie Baumann, and this is what the finished...

"Lake Breeze" by ADist (IAPLC 2011 - #16)

clever, but not my kind of thang. Is there any livestock in there? Was there ever any livestock in there? It remains artistic, but it's also very easy to grow plants without fish in a tank. Let the C02 role!

    60cm - Scree Evolved (IAPLC 2011 entry)

not to sound rude towards IAPLC, but this scape should have been higher placed! For me this scape evolutionized (??even a word??), Iwagumi. This is probably why is wasn't placed higher, they're very precious about there Iwagumi. Brilliant scape George!
