shouldn't need to heat it unless its out in the cold. ambient is more than enough. I've never used heat for DSM or emersed nurserys in the years I've been doing it.
what you should remember is that humidity is nothing to do with humidity. My indoor setups are in an unheated and almost unlighted cupboard averaging 22 ambient virtually all year round. The outdoor is obviously more variable but the key is more to do with sealing (or near to) the substrate...
ITs a bit overkill IMO. When I had an emersed setup it was simply an old cupboard with 6 propogators in it. A single T8 bulb above each 3 and a single cheapo air pump from Wilko wired to 6 airstones. Worked really well. No heating, no fans, just ambient with propogators with lids on and a slight...
put 10 drops of tea tree oil per 1 litre of water and you won't get any fungus or mould (in the water the plant is sitting on and in the mist spray)

It will of course disappear before coming back but you will be quite taken back with the colouration of emergent leaves.
My Wendtii brown and greens have natural yellows and reds mixed in with the greens, purples and browns. I would've take some pics but I moved them yesterday and they've all...
Under bed clear storage boxes with Lids from Wilko are £4.50 and approx 60cm x 40cm footprint. they are about 40cm tall too so they are a much more cost effective option than propogators or tanks :)
I got mine 2 for £8 from instore.
the good thing about these is you can pick the box up and...
Its quite surprising really that the water in these setups doesn't go stinky. Even when growing in straight soggy compost there is no smell..........until you disturb it and then it is enough to sting your eyes and burn your nostrils

Re: Will this emersed setup work with Crypt Parva?
I use moss on top of the rockwool on all my pots except HC. Stops the rockwool going green as it blocks out the light.
I don't use anything on compost though. I just leave the water below the level.

Re: Will this emersed setup work with Crypt Parva?
The substrate should be moist, not dry and not wet.
Basically using compost you should be able to see it without there being any puddles. Don't be too finicky over the level with stems. rosettes.
Too much surface water and you will get...
Re: Will this emersed setup work with Crypt Parva?
No idea. lol. I wouldn't worry too much though. As long as it doesn't get too hot. Leave something in between lid and bas to prop it open a little or open a vent slightly if you find it gets too hot.

Re: Will this emersed setup work with Crypt Parva?
Unless there is a reason for rockwool I would use plain old compost. If you use something inert like rockwool you have to master emersed dosing levels. lol
I wouldn't bother with the pots either if you are just wanting to grow Crypts. Fill...
The heat is one problem of the 'natural sunlight' method. The heat generated by the sun through a window can be pretty impressive in the propogator. You may be better finding a spot in a greenhouse/shed that is not in direct sunlight. You will still get enough light that way but not so much...
I tend to leave the lids 'ajar' on all of mine. It's amazing how hot these can get inside without any assistance ;)
When I first started I found that the humidity is fine. You can barely see into the propogator, however with the lid closed and the temp high I had all sorts of yellowing on some...
There's a flip side to this.
If you are doing the emersed in tank style setup with substrate then it is harder to keep humidity up. If you have potted plants placed in open water the humidity is pretty impressive.
I suppose you could just try placing a bowl of water (however small) somewhere...
Dave - Not sure I understand the CO2 question. The plants are exposed to the air which means there are many many x more CO2 available to the plant naturally in the air than under the water @ '30ppm'
I would assume that this would have a similar result to in tank conditions only amplified many...
