    Ecotech Radion XR15w Freshwater LED

I got mine yesterday and am really pleased with it! The control over the lighting spectrum is incredible! I might have to invest in the reef link though, as control over it from the iPad would be handy.

What the FW versions? I have been watching Charter House Aquatics to see when they are getting them in - look like they have the marine versions and the mount bracket, but no FW version :(

    Some Lighting Advice Needed Please

I would say that the standard lighting that you have is more than adequate... if anything to much! I would not bother to add reflectors either.

    Maxspect Razor 8000K

Hi mate, yes you are right it does not take very much adjustment to alter things... I'm sure when you get yours planted up you will see - it will be interesting to see what settings you settle for. Thanks for the offer on the java needle, I managed to get some in the end... But thanks again :)...

    Maxspect Razor 8000K

I have been tweaking the lighting allot and found those settings be about the best I can get, although I do feel like its washing the lush greens out a bit still...maybe its missing the reds? I might have to change it over for a 'Futura' ;)

modify juwel rio 180 light unit

I would say as above, the standard lights are more than enough to grow almost anything... By adding more light you will only complicate things and invite algae along to the party.

Why would you want that much light?

    Maxspect Razor 8000K

Hi guys, I know a few of us on here are now running these light, I'm curious to know what colour settings you have yours set too... As in Channel A & Channel B. I've opted for 'Channel A' 70% and 'Channel B' 57% - not sure it's quite right yet though! Also if you have the light suspended or...

    Do PSUs use electricity?

Hi mate, the best bloke to ask is Howard Roy at Maxspect in USA - I can PM details if you want? He is the director and a very helpful chap :)

    TMC Signature High Tech

I'd say 2 decent T5's will give you enough light to grow almost anything on this size tank

Maxspect Razor LED Lighting System 120W (8,000K)

Thats the one I'm going for, did you have clear silicone or the black... I still cant quite decide if to have the Charcoal grey unit or white and with black silicone so it ties it in neatly with the Razor light as the pic below PS, any photos of yours?

    Lighting time?

yes is is what I would advise too, I don't think Juwel light units work with one of the tubes removed either.

    Photosynthesis times?

Is it better to have a break in between lighting times, say a 2-3hour break half way through? or just have the lights on 7-8hours straight?

Captain chaos, will I get 20% off if I put in 'Captain Caveman'

    Is this light good enough?

Yes I'll second that, you can grow most plants in the amount of light that you have, as spyder says a good amount of flow is the key.

I want a whiter light in my tank...?

That's what I opted for and it was the best choice, also Lampspecs offer a really good efficient service

    Enough light for photosynthesis (pearling)?

Here is my tank, it has been planted for a couple of weeks now and I still have a large, single piece of redmoor in soak - as soon as its soaked enough to sink I am going to place it towards the back of the tank to add some height in the display.

    Enough light for photosynthesis (pearling)?

Thanks for that George, I will get an up to date photo on this afternoon when the lights are back on so everyone can see the setup, rather than just going on my description. Cheers Gary

    Enough light for photosynthesis (pearling)?

Hi everyone, I am still struggling to get photosynthesis to happen in my tank! Can anybody maybe pick up on what I have wrong or maybe doing wrong? My corner tank is 180litres and about 65cm deep, I now have a good flow rate with my spray bar and 2 Koralias mounted in each front corner...
