Then perhaps try to make a single feature out of a few stones rather than a cluster, try and pair some up tightly for one impact zone if you know what I mean.
Have you tried using that big stone on the left stood up and slanted in the 600? I would.
Again though awesome wood and stone but all too tidy, maybe try closing one eye and getting a bit skeewiff with it all lol
You have some awesome rocks yet again, but I do think they look placed and too spaced.
Also think more would be good to make it a little frenzied, however you know I'm pretty useless with rock scaped myself lol
Blimey I must be doing ok lol thanks Keith, the substrate is a bit of a trade off as something the Mrs likes and has an input on but will also serve as an easy algae indicator for me while keeping the guppies my Mrs wants out lol
I "think" I'm going to plant it out with dwarf HG but not fully...
I have finally settled on my own jungle scape, I looked at many different tanks for inspiration but in the end just created something fairly unplanned and wild which fits in with the natural jungle feel.
Just go wild and don't think so much about a "pretty" hard scape if you want something...
Bogdan, take some time to look over Google images and get some inspiration of the type of tank you want to create and then compare yours to your inspiration.
You won't be able to copy exactly but will have a good basis to create your own idea and design from.
When I kept Malawi's in a 6x2x2 I had 100+kg of ocean rock all sat on egg crate, no matter how much they dug the stability of the rock was never in doubt.
In terms of circulation I have no idea tbh.
That big piece on the left catches my attention too much and once seen it's all I see, however grown in it could be a very different matter.
On a side note looking at your flickr you have some amazing scapes so I'm sure you have a great vision for this qnd I'm eager to see how it develops...
Im looking forward to seeing this flooded, I've just had a total rethink on my tank and gone with spiderwood too. I have it weighed down in the tank and hoping it takes on enough water in 48hrs or so to not float so I can plant it.
How long have you been soaking yours?
A couple of different angles, I'm going to 're scape it today. I'm glad all of this is happening while it's still cycling so I can just pull it all apart, I don't think I would be as willing if it had fish in.
Good points guys and ones I've been thinking about, since getting carried away ordering a ton of plants I've sat looking at the tank thinking to myself what am I going to do with them all lol
The AR I considered having in the substrate with mixed crypts instead of a carpet, in terms of the...
Yeah I think it's just too thick compared to what is generally used so may be why you are struggling so much as it doesn't have the same look, I would definitely cut down the amount coming out of the tank too.
I have a bit coming out of mine I'm hoping to get moss to spread onto and possibly...
What do you guys think of this and my plant list? I have ordered the following plants, any other plant ideas?
Bucephalandra sp. "Deep Purple"
Bucephalandra sp. "Red"
Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Rubella'
Cryptocoryne albida 'Brown'
Cryptocoryne beckettii "Petchii"
Cryptocoryne wendtii "brown"...
I quite like it but think it needs more height and maybe seperation to create a bit of a valley in the centre perhaps? Also more slanting of the rocks away from each other.
Dodgy picture attached lol
I gave up on it after about 3 weeks as I didn't see any growth lol when I pulled it to replace it it had grown a good root structure though so had been doing well just not visibly so I imagine the same for yours.
Well I wasn't expecting there to be that many reasons, I thought perhaps it was just the depth you preferred.
Definitely something to think about now for my next/upgraded tank.
I have the 8 in 1 set which by the quality I highly recommend.Signstek 8 in 1 Stainless Steel Aquarium Tank Tweezers Scissors Spatula Tool Set https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01MYTGLI3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_r0zfAbQ76KB6W
Well with an unexpected Sunday delivery of more Aquasoil which I wasn't expecting until tomorrow I have filled it in and an pretty sure of it being my final scape ( for now lol )
Something that just crossed my mind though is I haven't yet cleaned the Dragon stone so will have to pull it all...
After another play and a bit more rock I am now at this, I just can't make my mind up lol
It will be backfilled around the sides and over some of the rock to create some pasture type areas.
So after a quick trip to the LFS I picked up a bit more Dragon rock and have built up from yesterday's attempt while trying to keep the same scene.
I am awaiting more Aqua soil to be able to add in some banks and top up here and there.
Any thoughts?

Thanks for the input so far, as much as I do like the fuller mountain scapes it's not what I want to create really with this tank as it's a family/house tank rather than just a show piece.
I may go and have a rummage around the rock at the LFS and see if there are any more bits I could work in...
What was planned to be a Seiryu scape magically turned into a dragon rock scape after a quick stop at the LFS.
Plants are planned to be very few but a carpet of possibly HC or GE.
What are your thoughts so far?
That would be great as the pieces I am thinking of above I am looking at as how they can be used when cut into smaller bits. To get smaller bits I could use as is would be perfect!
I notice all of these are on a 4x2x2 layout so quite big, do we know if it would be possible to get a similar sort of range but smaller and on a 2ft scale?
Just looking for some nice nano size sumatra myself right now so if anyone has some nice bits let me know :) Also may be interested in going in on some from Tom :)
Thinking of going with only RO and want to use rock in the scape but what is available that is totally neutral and will not effect the hardness at all?
Cat litter and just some pieces of slate from a smashed up piece
Do you ask because it goes well or looks like shite lol
PS the slate looks much better wet, gets much darker
Bored so having a play with what I have laying around, supposed to be a relaxing day of nothing but bored as hell so fancied a play lol
Excuse the severe reflections I will post a better pic once it is dark,
Depends how much rock, water volume, just how much of what ever buffering mineral it contains ( lime, calcium etc )
But I would guess not above 8 / 8.4max which would be fine for Neo's from what I have read.
