2kg FE used in just over a week?

I have it going as hard as I can just so the mist isn't coming out as biggish bubbles. I have a dual stage regulator from Co2art and the tubing from that going into a bubble counter and from that into the UP diffuser and out via lily pipes. Im going to start injecting from 2 hours before lights...

2kg FE used in just over a week?

Hi all, So I have decided to use Co2 24/7 for the initial setup period before I add any livestock but in just over 1 week (saturday to following monday) the 2kg fe is empty! How long does your 2kg fe's last for? Even if I had been using it for the photo period that is still only approx 2 weeks...

The importance of a 1 point pH drop

As some have already said, each tank is set up differently and all the tests such as drop checkers, bubble rate, type of diffusers etc etc all factor in to getting the optimum levels for plant paradise and non toxic conditions for fish and shrimp. You seem to know what you need to do but it can...

    2 x filters ... 2 x diffusers?

It's for my new 120 aswell and although I have access to 2 FE's, I have one full 5kg to start this tank as I have to get the other FE's refilled and will be handier to have spares for when I run out as it would be harder to change both at the same time considering my refiller is 70 odd miles...

    2 x filters ... 2 x diffusers?

When using 2 x filters via lily pipes is it best to have both connected to a Co2 source or would 1 be ample? The lilys would be placed at opposite ends of the of the tank and creating a circular flow with a UP inline diffuser connected to one filter.

    lucky day.

Nice 1 .... I recently got a couple of freebie fe's from my refiller ... was well chuffed :)

    Fire extinguisher set up?

I have just changed back to the fe after using the back up 'sodastream' set up, so will keep and eye on it this time and check the readings on the gauge. It isn't that old of a reg and bought from co2art less than a year ago, but like the look of the dual stage. What are the main differences...

    Fire extinguisher set up?

I have a single stage regulator so perhaps that is the reason it more or less stops at half a tank? If I buy a dual stage do you think this will help in using up the full tank?

    Fire extinguisher set up?

I got my 2kg fe refilled today and the fella thru in a 5kg and another 2kg to keep me going for £20! I tried to find out more about the difference of keeping the core in the fe and taking it out and how to avoid the big dump of co2 at the end of cylinder. He says my 2kg fe was only half empty...

Anyone recommend a good pressure adjustable co2 regulator?

The Co2 supermarket ones are good aswell, around £45 and I'm about to order a 2nd one

Just how much C02 do you use!

I use a sodastream bottle and had it on an 80l tank for the past 3-4 weeks using an inline diffuser at around 1-2 bubbles per sec and it lasted me a week and a half. Just moved it to my rio 400 and have it at around 4-5 bubbles per sec using a big glass diffuser so will update the results when...

Co2 supermarket reg and inline diffusers?

I use Co2 supermarket/sodastream system with the UP atomizer with no problems as yet. Just doesn't last very long compared with a FE

    Co2 Issues at On Time

It is the Atomizer that seems to be going ok when it comes on, not the glass diffuser so if the glass diffuser was 'the path of least resistence' then this is not the problem. I have a 4ft tank and the alps 2000 filters hosing is too wide to fit a atomizer on it without reducing flow so this was...

    Co2 Issues at On Time

I'm gonna try and explain this as best I can so bear with me lol. I recently purchased an UP 3-way needle valve (Tri-regulator) and am using Co2 supermarket regulator. I have 2 outlets from the 3-way, one to an UP 16/22 Inline Atomizer and one to a glass diffuser under the filters inlet. I am...

A little help regarding setting up CO2 in a larger tank.

I use the same filters as yourself and the 16/22 Inline atomiser will fit the 1400 hosing no problem cause I've done it. I've only yesterday added a 2nd diffuser in way of a ceramic diffuser under the intake of the 2000, so still waiting to see how that goes

    Up Atomizer problem

It's ok now, it just took a bit of time for the Co2 to make it through I think, although I thought it went through pretty quick before, maybe a minute or so at most. It took near 5-10 minutes or more before I started to see bubbles/mist.

    Up Atomizer problem

I haven't been using mine for a month or so and the last time I used it the bubble counter exploded. I have replaced the bubble counter and turned it back on but I'm afraid of the bubble counter exploding again if it isn't working properly. I can't see any mist or bubbles coming from the spray...

    No bubbles in bubble counter??

The bubble counter exploded! I changed it to another one I had and the bubbles started coming after turning the needle valve only slightly. After a while it did start to slow down, so I upped the needle valve bit by bit so I always had around 2-3 BPS, but I did notice it needed adjusting every...

    No bubbles in bubble counter??

    No bubbles in bubble counter??

I have the sodastream set up for my Co2 but a UP inline atomizer. It has been working ok previously (enough to kill fish at xmas!) but my problem now is that when it is on I barely get 1 bubble per 30 seconds, perhaps even a minute! And thats with the needle valve fully open! Something aint...

    co2 supermarket mixer reactor set

I'm using the Co2 supermarket mixer/reactor on my allponds 1400l/h but have lost alot of flow due using the thinner hosing which is why I was considering changing to a UP inline atomizer 16/22mm so I could get rid of the smaller hosing and just connect back to my original hosing, therefore...

    UP CO2 Atomiser Problem

Got one of the new UP INLINE LARGE SUPER CO2 ATOMIZER 12/16MM (D-519-12-L) ordered yesterday to replace my Co2 supermarket reactor/mixer (pic below) so hope I dont run into any problems ..... reg is above 2bar so hopefully thats ok

    Bar/psi?

Thanks very much ...... Currently using the reactor/mixer that came...

Best Diffuser for a 400l tank?

Looking for a diffuser for my juwel 400 tank. Gave up on trying to fit the cheap mixer reactor that came with the sodastream Co2 system. Still gonna use the sodastream bottle but need something else like an ordinary diffuser. Any recommendations?

    inline diffuser/atomiser

I am in the process of setting my Co2 system up but had problems with the diameter of the hose that came with it as they fit the mixer reactor but not my filter so just ordered some inline hose reducer joiners to make it fit better. After reading this though Im thinking my reactor might not be...

Any tips b4 I tun Co2 back on?

Thanks for the replies. I was going to set up my new sodastream Co2 system from Co2 supermarket.com but I've hit a snag in that the hose they supply for use with the mixer diffuser is alot thinner than the filter hosing and they now recommend (after Ive purchased it) that I have to use a...

Any tips b4 I tun Co2 back on?

I just recieved my new sodastream Co2 system and will be putting it in the tank tomorrow. I had Co2 running previously but the regulator had a very dodgy knob to try and set the bubble rate. I just wanted to know if there was anything I should be wary of when turning it back on after a couple...
