I would be afraid of a major algae outbreak by adding ferts ..... might start off with a small amount

I appear to be having a little melt in some plants which are in vitro but as it is a new set up I was holding back on adding ferts but should I be adding ferts considering they are in vitro?

Did you dilute the liquid Co2? If not, spraying it directly onto the plant will more or less kill the plant off.

I will do that next time I get some new plants that I think will go the same way. Cheers Clive

Thanks Clive, the first thing I try and do is get good Co2. It is my foremost aim and just don't seem to be able to achieve it. How do you push the amount of Co2 I need before I kill the fish? If the lighting was stronger would the higher rate of Co2 be taken up before it affected the fish...

The whole lot seems to have died off ..... might have been able to save them if i knew wat the cause was??

Just planted this 3 days ago and although I have seen this before and put it down to too strong of light. I have co2 going in so that I dont kill the fish via up inline atomiser via full length spraybar using 1501e jbl greenline filter. I have a 2 x 39w t5 luminare with 1 t5 taken out, so...

Also instead of people having to ask the same questions all the time and newbies not getting the answers for the basics, that there is a FAQ in each section and a dedicated moderator of each section could keep it up to date etc .... just off the top of me head, as it wouldnt put newbies off

Found a piece of celery in the fridge so I rinsed it under cold tap and then hot tap to soften it and get it mushier for them. Placed a leaf at one spot and a cut piece of the stick in another spot so as to see what they prefer.

Possibly could be right, I will start feeding them some courgettes and algae wafers and see if anything changes. Thanks guys :thumbup:

Its not any damage caused by snails and I have no plecos in the tank. Only have Cherry and Amano shrimp and otocinclus plus 4 black phantom tetras and 4 endlers. The leaves actually have curled up aswell, could it be too much ferts?

I am finding holes in the leaves of some of my plants, and going by internet surfing it looks like manganese deficiency? I am dosing Co2 and EI (more than recommended dose). Any ideas?

I have found that it tends to push itself out of the substrate and if you try and fix that piece it pulls the rest with it so I am considering replanting it all, tedious as it may be

Never knew about that! I've moved a few things about to see if it helps but I think its too late for them. Got a few new plants coming tomorrow to replace the voids that have been created due to loosing them.

I know its a hard plant to grow but it was doing well and there was some growth. Any ideas to what the problem is so I rectify it, both drop checkers showing near yellow and 2 powerheads are now in the tank to aid distribution. Dosing EI and using 1x 39w 8 hrs a day with co2 on 2 hours b4...

Got this moss in my lfs about 6 months - 1 year ago and I can't remember what type it is ..... I moved some into my emersed tank and it seems to be growing a bit better .... it seems a slow grower anyway. Straight out of my main tank After a week or so in my emersed tank

I read somewhere that adding broken clay pots with the red pigment in them mixed with the substrate can help?

Here is a pic of my bulb, I have moved it for better picture but it has grown from just a bulb in a couple of weeks and thats about how much it gets buried in the gravel.

Got this bulb along with a purchase of plants but I've no idea what it is, I'm thinking it's gonna grow tall lol

I got a bulb recently with a selection of plants I ordered, no idea what it is but I just pushed it into the top layer of gravel a little, leaving most exposed and its growing fine. Will put a few pics up when I am doing some tank maintenance this evening

I ordered a few potted plants from them and they arrived well packaged and in good nick. They didnt last but that was around the time I was having Co2 issues.

I have used them before but any failure was down to myself due to not knowing what I was doing and trying to grow hard to grow plants in a low tech tank. Alot of them are still going however even after moving them over to my high tech tank and thats a year ago! I don't disagree with anyones...

I totally agree that there is no comparison to Tropica or Aquafluer for quality but for someone to plant a tank from scratch paying £5.99/£7 for one pot of one species it is going to cost them alot of money. Say they can only buy around 10/12 species, thats upwards of around £70 before p&p ...

I've ordered from alot from the above mentioned sources and actually expecting around 200 plants from plantsalive tomorrow or next day so will see how they go. Easy to blame the sellers when its us messing it up ..... unless its one of our top Aquascapers testing them and them failing I would...

Cheers ceg ..... I am dosing EI and easycarbo ..... at present Im going by the recommended dosing on the bottle and adding 10ml daily to my 400l tank .... I know your one for ripping up the instructions when it comes to ferts, what do recommend on easycarbo dosing?

How would I go about that considering 2 at the back and 2 at the front unless I have the back 2 on for a certain period of time and the front 2 on for another period of time? but how much time for each? Hopefully getting the Co2 in by end of week ... fingers crossed!

It is a female Krib and it was seperated from a male in my other tank and that was after the leaves 'disappeared' .... I have swordtails, bala/silver sharks, pleco, panda corydoras, rummynose tetras, ember tetras, harlequin rasboras .... maybe the swordtails?

I should add I have 4 x 54w iquatic tropicals, Tetra plant Complete substrate aswell
