Just to add to what nick has said, not all moss will attach its self to wood/rock and over time the Cotten rots away. Weeping moss being one that will not attach so fishing line is best for that.

Iv seen somewhere on here that someone used stainless steal and bent them into pins. So that should work ok to help root.
Most plants garden/aquatic when cut above a leaf node will then produce multiple stems. This is how you make your stems bushy :)

What I did on my dads Fluval Edge to form a carpet was too force it to the substrate. Take the long strands at the end and push into the substrate as you would the other end with roots, this will then grow roots there. Roots also grow from each leaf witch will also root.

Just picking up on what Gill said .. I ordered mine too soon and stored them in the fridge for a few weeks ( there is another thread on here about this )

Think it all comes down to the setup they are going to be grown in mate, But iv used a few pots of a few different types and you do get a lot more plantlets for your money..
But im sure some other ppl will fill you in better :)

I was 99% sure that it did but never said just incase I was wrong and looked like a complete noob... I had that same plant for 1 month in the fridge along with a few others :)
