No forget the filter, PO4 will not cause algea regardless of what the industry tries to tell you, just one of the many misnomers that are perpetuated to try and sell you more stuff:rolleyes:
No it's clearer and more durable than glass, and the trasparency doesn't degrade, unless it goes green with algae of course, oh and it's half the weight of glass :shock:

or you get yourself some clear acrylic pipe and make your own, it's clearer and easy enough to drill :wink:
been running one for over 6 months now and i think they are awsome filters :D I did have a problem with one of the plastic u pieces when it started to suck air in, they are moulded in 2 pieces i think then bonded together, i emailed tetratec in the morning and they had a replacement free of...
sorry it took so long to get back to this i've been working away :(
it turned out to be the moulded plastic ubend on the inflow had split at the seem :!: have replaced it with a eheim inflow kit but i'm having a problem with one of the seals on that now, at least i know what it is now :)
thanks for the replies guys, i've been flat out at work since 6am yesterday so i wont get a chance to check the seals close until the weekend. i'll let you know how what i find
My 1200 has (after 6 months of silent, faultless running) suddenly started to make a loud vibration every few mins and then expelling lots of air from the outflow. It's been 2 weeks since it's last clean (normally do it monthly) but i stripped it and cleaned it anyway but it made no differance...
