    yes thats right, the trimmed bottoms may well sprout 2 or 3 new stems, thats how you get them nice and bushy;)

    Java fern falls under the "Microsorum pteropus - various" catagory you can also add most forms of Bucephalandra to the list of which there are many :)

    Amicorum can get quite large 10-15cm but to be honest any crypt can be kept small and compact just by consatntly pruning out any leaves that get to big, but be aware some forms can grow very large root systems.

    OK it's good your are dosing NPK but you are missing the most important Nutriant, Carbon! you will need to be adding CO2 in either liquid or gas form:thumbup:

    It looks like it could be Potamogeton Pectinatus also know as "Sago Pondweed" or "Fennel-Leaved Pondweed" found throughout the world including the UK

    i have a crypt thats over 5 years old i want to move but i think i'm going to need a JCB, you made need to do a water change afterwards if you end up disturbing a large amount of substrate and you may find you have to dig up a few other plants as well to get it out:nailbiting:

    OK i just googled "photoperiod in tropical plants" and found a few studdies that say terrestial plants in the tropics are triggered by photoperiod and in some cases a difference of only 15mins in the availble daylight is enough! not sure if it is the same in aquatic plants tho', intersting...

    I have no idea mate it was just an idea, something in their natural enviroment must trigger them tho' but if not photoperiod then maybe temp but i am just guessing.

    In Nature the usual trigger for flowering is photoperiod it could be that your lights are on for the right amount of hours for that particular plant to triiger into flowering, you could start slowly reducing your photoperiod to see if that triggers some of the others, in other words try to fool...

    That might be a bit warm, they say it should be kept at about 64-82 F (18-28 C) but there is only one way to find out, it wouldn't be the first time we have proved the text books wrong on this forum :wink:

    Peacock is one of my favourite Taxiphyllums, if it is Peacock you have been very lucky 8)

    i'd say it was a Taxiphyllum of some sort but you would need to view it under a microscope to be sure which one as the differences can be microscopic. i have quite a few species of moss in my collection but i would need a sample to do a comparrison. Nice photo BTW :)
