At this time of year I only buy Dutch Tomatoes. The orangey red round things from Spain are tasteless in my view, much like their strawberries and watercress.

If your tap water tastes bad why not just use an under sink filter on it? We had a new kitchen tap fitted some years ago and it came with a Brita filter. We only use it for drinking and cooking. Actually I didn’t mention these two trays. There seem to be 4 different kinds of noodles in them. As the trays have four quadrants you could sort them by size and colour? I should add that I think I stood all my Siporax on end in one tray to maximise the flow, made sense to me at the time. 😂

I’ve now looked at some 1000W inverters and with a suitable battery I could run both of my Aquariums for about 18 Hours. It’s anyones guess if we’ll be getting power cuts this winter and how long they’ll last. Can I justify £300 for a “just in case” is the question?

Thanks for that Darrel. I think most of them have been sucked into the filter. I normally double filter rainwater through kitchen towel but I’m now giving it another pass. This time through a coffee filter! :)

There are several of the 6 lobe type. Torx, Torx Plus and T Star. The T Star seem to be peculiar to Spax Wood screws whilst the others appear with all kinds of fasteners. I try to buy only Torx or Robertson when buying wood screws if I can.

I think it depends on age. I had mine a few weeks after my wife. She did ask if I could have it when she got the call but they said no.

Yes, I get mine out from time to time. I put them in cold salty water for a couple of hours in the fridge, then rinse, roll and back in the tank.

My Moss Balls are getting bigger. A bit tatty at times and very very slowly, but they’re definitely bigger than when I bought them. :)

I’ve got a fairly stiff open brush about the size of a toothbrush I use with running water for the final cleaning. I just wish they could use something else in the pots! :)

Isn’t it a pain picking this stuff out from the roots of plants! I just received a couple of Anubias and it’s taken me 20 minutes to pick all the bits out with tweezers. :(

I voted summertime but I actually don’t care, I just wish they’d stop messing about with my body clock twice a year. Beggars belief that any civilised society would do this. Just put the clocks forward 30 mins in summer or 30 minutes back in winter and leave it like it!

I can’t help thinking the Germans are trading on a false reputation these days. If you look at the car reliability statistics for example German cars are amongst the least reliable. Top cars for reliability are either Japanese or South Korean. How did that happen?! :lol:

Sadly it's a slow process unless you have lots of moulds. Takes about 6 hours before the pot can be removed from the mould and then the mould needs to dry overnight really before it can be used again. Then the pot needs firing. Hopefully I'll have some spares left over though.
