Pleas help with my GSA problem experts pleas

It's all a balancing act. I would be reluctant to reduce nitrate but GSA is really a sign of low phosphate levels so I would simply up this and see how it goes.

    Battling algae!

I would also consider the position of the filters and maybe even removing 1. With the outlets pointing in different directions they may be causing conflicting currents rather than a nice circular flow.

    What exactly causes BBA?

Maybe. I don't know. My photography skills begin and end with my phone. [emoji1] The video is quite clear though so this will give you a true image.

    What exactly causes BBA?

To be fair, he doesn't seem to be too bad at it! [emoji1] How about a little friendly competition. Let's put it to the test. Ardjuna Vs Tom. Who can produce the most varied, healthiest planted tank? (Just messing with you a little Ardjuna. I do like reading your posts. [emoji4])

    What exactly causes BBA?

Hey Ardjuna, Sorry if I have missed this somewhere else (and I have not been on your site yet) but what do you believe causes algae? Edit - just in general. I am not expecting you to detail the cause of every type of algae. [emoji4]

Brown Algae on glass and on slow growing plants

How long has the tank been set up? Diatoms are typically down to too much light. I used to run 2 Juwel Rio 125s and would suffer from Diatoms unless I reduced the photoperiod to 5 or 6 hours. The issue I believe is the power of the T5s - assuming this is what your Trigon is running? T5s are...

How can i get MORE algae?

I agree with Tim. I would get a load ( I say a load as I had Hillstream loaches and just one of these could clear a standard sized pebble in one sitting!) of pebbles and stick them in some water in a bright spot. At this time of year some artifical lighting may be required.

    Diatoms problem

Phosphates will not be the issue. What lighting do you have and how long is it on for?

am I loosing the battle against brown algae?

I find it hard to believe that something as popular and widely used as Amazonia would be causing the issues you are experiencing. There are lots and lots of people on here who use this stuff and produce stunning scapes.

Still getting brown leaves, i think...

    Finally! :)

am I loosing the battle against brown algae?

Let's see what Clive has to say about it - Diatom dilemma... | UK Aquatic Plant Society

    me and my big mouth.

Looks like Nerite eggs. Ramshorns are laid in clusters.

    Liquid carbon on plant leaves

I would agree. I have had success but also failure with this method. As per this guide - James' Planted Tank - Algae Guide I diluted Easy Carbo in a 1:3 ratio. The method worked a treat on my Anubias and Vallis but killed all my moss. On another occasion I think I had the solution too strong...

    Fuzzy glass?

In my 5 nano tanks with PL lighting and LED lighting (this is probably not a factor but just in case) I have zero issue with diatoms. In my 2 Rios with T5 lighting I have to clean it every week and as you have stated sometimes more. Lighting on these tanks is on for 5 hours a day. I feel the...

    Brown algae

The drop checker is simply a crude pH monitor.

    Brown algae

When did you start dosing the ferts as your other thread stated you were not dosing? 4 separate sources of flow all aiming in different directions could well be an issue.

    Liquid carbon bath

I would advise against it. I mixed a solution as per this site - James' Planted Tank - Algae Guide and used it to spray on some hair algae on my wood and rocks. Unfortunately it also killed off the majority of the moss I had inadvertently sprayed.

    Diatom dilemma...

A couple of really informative posts there! It makes sense too. I have had constant battles with various algae in my Juwel tanks using the T5 bulbs but not a sniff in my other tanks using quite low powered LEDs. Definitely food for thought.

Can't really answer your question but I was just thinking this myself....
