So I have an ada 90p with 4x39w lights
Ada aquasoil
Also decorative river sand
Dragon rock
Some wood
Way to many species of plants
Tetratec 1200 canister filter
2kg co2 with reeftek regulator
Saga super diffusor
Ottos and yellow forktail rainbows
Also orange neocardina shrimp
Tank been...
Its going good actually. No algae lots of growth. ..
But the bottom parts of the wood started to give a bad smell. Lifted one out of the water and it was starting to decay underneath probably had to check that before I soaked the wood.
So scape changed slightly but still like it will...
Thanx im actually in 2 minds about the carpet? The riversand will give some contrast to the rocks and ferns when the rank matures. But I will let the carpet grown in before I make a decision
o this is the tank with the new rocks.
Still waiting for my new ferns to arrive in the mail
Have a bit of brown slimy thread algae but lights been on for too long. Also raised my lights alot for now. Need to get a timer asap.
Loving my tank. Did change the rocks but it's still the same scape. Just nicer rocks. Will update when its grown in more and when I got weeping moss and more needle leaf ferns which is impossible to find!
Plants is starting to grow. Everything has new leafs. Groundcover is shooting out runners everywhere. No algae so far running lights only at 5hours a day
Just one thing the peroxide isnt really shrimo friendly. So I will use 12ml per 100L (tank volume) once a week max. Thats the 40vol peroxide. Can use less concentrated peroxide if you have shrimo and dont want to lose them. Also big 50% weekly waterchanges is recommended
Seriously need a beter filter. 24 hours and water still hasnt cleared. Will get a canister filter and some purigen.
1 bbps co2 and my dropchecker turns yellow
Thanx @Troi will check the link now. Think its going to be a fun exciting journey!
Hope you guys enjoy the setup like I would. Might not be the best scape out there but its my own and its a total new concept for me
Must say im soooooooo excited cant wait for tomorrow afternoon to setup the tankm will probably spam my journal with pics.
Another challenge is to keep keep the algae at bay with such a shallow tank and no co2!
Must say love kessil leds. Used it before and I wont get other leds
So I decided to start my journal.
The tank is 90x60x30h (cm)
2x 150w amazon sun kessil lights
Substrate will be river sand
Lots of rock and wood.
Moslty anubias java fern moss crypts and tenellus
Fish dont know yet.
Going to use broms and ferns emmersed on the wood.
No co2
Going to use a...
Thats awesome. Hope to see lots of emmeesed growth in this scape
Question I have loads of anubias im gona use in my scape end of the month. Want to grow them emmersed. Think I must cut the leaves off? They will drop their leaves anyway because of the emmersed transformation.
Had a 240x60cm tank and trimming a 2.4m carpet takes a looooong time. Never mind the costs of ferts and lights also substrate was aquasoil costs quite alot of money and maintenance on a high light fast growing tank like this just takes the fun out of it
Awesome. Allot of effort and patience to get your hardscape like that. You gona have a dry start?
Its a pain to get the soil to stay put with slopes like that
Yeah looks cool. Something like the emmersed growth on the wood like in your previous scapes will look cool to hide the places where the wood was sawed. I myself will be setting up a 90x60x30h tank end of january when im settled into the new place. Cant wait for the massive tank also you will be...
ja. will get a small tank again also less work then. have a soft spot for a planted tank microfish. as soon as we can gwt rosy loaches it will motivate me enough to start again
it would have been cool to use smaller branches at the base. had plans to change all the stems to a long HG variety but plans changed when i decided to convert this tank will get a 60p or so next year.
yeah im pleased just have a bba hiccup on the right in the hairgrass stupid faulty timer switching the co2 on and off during the day. replaced it just waiting for the bba to die back. in 2 minds about the hairgass. thinking of replacing it with UG. pic was taken 2 days after a good trim. ferts...
well i keep mine with a pair of nanocara anomala's and they dont even bother also dont do anything woth the tetras. and leave my largd cherrie shrimp alone. i see my female is starting to fatten up and the male is showing slot of colour towards the female so will see if there is any aggresion...
well because of the size of the tank and my awesome BlackBerry camera you wont really see progress. but bushes are much more dense because of trimming and replanting and the Hairgrass carpet is also starting to fill in. will take pics in a month or 2 with a decent camera
i had it in my cube. it grew fairly easy for me. but did a bleach dip on everything to try and rid snails and lost all my blyxa. so i dont have troubles growing it. u havd troubles growing ludwigia inclinata "curl" and macranda red
so stand is being prepped this week. glass is here tomorrow so hopefully next weekend i have some glass siliconed together in a shape that can hold water. cant remember what its called or how it looks haha
will probably be done next weekend. will leave the tank to dry for a week and do leak test. so hopefully i can start in 2 weeks. have an amazing piece of wood i want use. it has an arch of 1.2 meters with loads of detail. want to use it as a "bridge" between 2 islands. gona use xmas moss all over it
hope the tank is fine this time! luckily one of the best tank builders is building my tank and they are building it on the stand in my living room so i can also see the progress. glass will be here on monday so also cant wait!
