Ah I see now, that's a shame that its steps down so small. Would you think it would be possible to fit different 'fittings' to the canister i.e. 16/22 size to not restrict flow so much? Maybe even replace with straight joints not elbow joints, surely this would help with flow too?

which unit do you use? the ef 1 or ef 2? do they not both have different size connectors?

Isn't really a problem... I massively disagree, how a product could go to market with that kind of noise coming from it is beyond me. Completely unusable for me and many others without the mod.

Even at 40% reduction it's still got to be better than what my current tetratec 1200 is turning over. As long as it doesn't blow the pump, but I can't see it doing much harm, as I say you can adjust the flow on the taps.

I would have thought if anything it would to better to reduce the outflow not the inflow, as dont manufactures say it's ok to regulate flow on outflow taps if it's to strong, so reducing the pipe work would surly be the same as using the taps to reduce flow?

How about reducing fx5 (25mm i think) pipe to 16/22, would that cause problems other than reduced flow?

The NS-t01 I just brought looks the same as that ^ just different model number. Wonder what the real difference is...if any.

Hi all, anybody happen to know the diameter of the o rings on the fx5's hose connectors? Just brought a second had fx5 and they are missing and not paying for the fluval ones wen normal ones must be pence! Measured it but not 100% sure and don't want to get wrong size.

Yea it's draft hair grass, completely took over the tank! Spreads fast! Not that tall, the sloped substrate just makes it look taller.

Won't the fx6 have enough power by its self to have a reactor inline? Or is it a large tank?

Hi, no the media didnt really make much difference, I still ether get a build up of gas at the top of the bottle or if I put a shorter bottle in I get bubbles in the tank. I'm pretty sure in my case the filter just isn't man enough (not enough flow through) to dissolve the gas without having it...

Ric3119 I took the caps out of my two yesterday took literally 5 mins each. Just snip through the cap with wire cutters, don't pull, they kind of just cleanly pop off. Really easy, only what tmc would do if you sent it away. No more whining :) Edit: cutting with wire cutters is what a member...

Let's just say that didn't work! Misting a lot more than without inline, micro bubbles just seem to be flowing straight through filter housing and into tank and not churning around like with larger bubbles. Next step taking out up inline and try a bit of corse filter foam in bottom of housing...

Yea I agree foxfish, it not ideal as i suppose you designed it be a alternative to ceramics. But I'm thinking injecting smaller bubbles into it could dissolve co2 quicker and stop bubbles escaping....that or the smaller bubbles will just all join together to form larger ones once in the chamber...

I Installed the cartridge that Alje linked to on eBay today, fits great and I reckon one would find it hard to find a bottle that worked better. For the price I would defiantly recommend over trying to find the perfect bottle :) Saying that I'm still getting small bubbles escaping as I did...

Alje, that looks like a great alternative to a bottle. Am I rite in thinking that it fits over the inside neck part of the water housing head and the arches on the bottom let the water out? Any pictures?

So after priming do you sand the paint all the way back to the mdf? Or is that not possible because it soaks in so deep? Sorry if that's a stupid question!

Very easy, the filter housing is 15quid and the connectors are about a fiver, both from eBay. I run mine from my tetratec ex1200 through a spray bar, flow has dropped but not massively, it seems like the better dissolvsion of co2 out weighs problem of the drop in flow, in my case anyway. It...

Had a thought today, does anybody think that using a external filter with all trays and media removed with a bottle inside with its neck over the impeller output part on the filter head would work? In exactly the same way as the the water filer housing but inside the external filter it's self.

Can anybody recommend any particular bottles? The one I'm using at the mo let's bubbles out from the bottom, but I don't see them in the tank or spray bar :s I'm not getting as quick of a ph drop or as much of a drop as when using up inline, but my hc is pearling mid way through the lighting...

That would be great mate, would be well worth me buying one if the burping stopped!! I've taken out ALL the sponges and about half of the ceramics and half of the black balls to try to increase flow and stop burping, it helped slightly but still does it!!

Would you say the bubbles are finer than the old model? I like having mine on the inlet but my tetratec burps co2 and it drives me nuts so have just gone back to outlet, but hate the bubbles...grrr!!

Sorry to hijack but been thinking for a while, if we are dosing above what our plants need with EI, even with weekly water changes, won't the total ppm of ferts rise sky high over a long period of time? Be grateful if someone could help me get my head around this. :)

Changed the 4dkh solution and now getting much less strange colours, so must have been dodgy solution. Things seem to be running nicely, 1point ph drop before lights on, full EI, steady growth that I have trimmed a few times, have only been running one t5 light as was getting scum on surface but...
