It could be. Though I did add an extra light and have been a bit lax with the water changes so it’s probably too much phosphate. Gonna keep pulling it out and stay on top of the water changes and hopefully that will sort irZ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Are we really advancing the hobby?

I'm not so sure about that. About 10 years ago when I first started in this hobby I had a 4ft clear-seal for about a year. It was chock full of plants. No co2 or anything until I started to try and grow HC towards the end. Anyways, After about 3 months when the plants had matured I hardly ever...

    Tube connections serial?

Hi All, Just a quick one. Do light fittings like the one in the original T5 fluval Vicenza 180 need both bulbs in to work? One broke in transit and when I push the button to turn it on the power LED just flashes red. Knowing if the fitting is knackered or if it just needs a bulb will save me...

    Recomendations?

Hi All, I have a Plant 3.0 in my (old T8 style Roma 200) and its the 46w version which I don't feel is enough to grow high light plants. I am looking for another light to pair with it but really cannot afford £200 for another medium size fluval plant 3.0 Can anyone point me to a light that I...

    Simple question about Co2

Does it matter if the co2 drop checker goes blue at night when the lights are off or should there be enough co2 in the water 24 hours a day to keep it green? Only asking as I gave a lot more surface movement to my tank yesterday and this morning before the lights are on the drop checker is...

    Is this fish poorly

Well according to my partner whose fish it is the Popeye has been there for a long long time, the distended belly though happened when it started losing its blue coloring, there was a patch of silver in the middle of it, but as you can see from the pic, that blue line is now solid again. We...

    Is this fish poorly

Hi all, I don’t want to say what I think is happening as I don’t want to sway anyone’s opinion but at first glance does this fish look ill? We have put him in QT as he has a pop eye, just one and he lost some colour along his blue streak however that seems to have come back. we don’t want to...

Really? We planted it in the substrate when she set up her Edge in May and it’s been thriving. When I dug it all up to put it in her new tank yesterday it had fresh, clean looking roots on it so had no idea it needed to go on wood. thanks for the tip :)

Yeah good point but I always think they aren’t going to get enough light. Like for instance at the moment I’m looking at my tank and thinking “I need to move them further apart or they won’t grow” and it ends up looking really sparse like it does now. It’s like a mental block or something lol

Inlet and Ouflow for Roma 200

Saying that though I have just seen that this fits over "50mm wide tanks edges." Which means that the 6cm lily pipes will fit if you say you have used the Eheim Installation set right? Nevermind, I must have been seeing things. Biggest I can find is with a 4cm gap.

    T5/8 or LED

Hi all, Just a quick question. Do you think that the 2 T5/T8 bulbs (not sure which they are yet) that come with an older Fluval Roma 200 would be better than an aqua sky 2.0 for light intensity? I’m starting to think I made an error buying this led unit. Thanks James

    T5/T8 vs Aquasky

Canot make up my mind, thoughts?

Nope, in fact I have to take the pipes out, fill it up, then put the pipes back in and prime. Its then when I shake it water comes out the side. If I dont do that, I could be priming for hours and it wouldn't pull the air out. It must be drawing air in from where it comes out when I shake it.
  61. jimi

Canot make up my mind, thoughts?

Hi All, I currently have a Fluval 305 but no matter what I do, when I shake it, it leaks. This cannot be normal. I have replaced the gasket and lubed it up and all sorts but the lid just will not stay watertight. As soon as I shale it to remove any air after turning it back on, it leaks out...

So a fish-less cycle and getting all readings down to 0, has been rendered pointless? Had to just add that this sounded a bit arsey but it wasn't meant to be lol
  71. jimi

    Is it still cycled?

I tend to agree with the shades of grey as it can go up and down even after its cycled. So I guess its jut case of stock slow and do regular water changes. Never had this before now is all, it normally spikes within a few days every time I have cycled which led me to think there must be a...
