so yesterday i purchased the tetra 6 in 1 water testing strips that measure nitrite, nitrate, gh, kh, ph and chlorine and im wondering how accurate are these strips? im currently getting a reading of NO3 - 0 NO2 - 0 GH - 4 KH - 3 pH - 6.4 - 6.8 Cl2 - 0 all that is currently in the tank is rcs...

Ive done it, you have to boil it for a good while though to get all the salt out, should be fine though.

Looks about 100 times better with the plants in there, id suggest moving the red stems nearer the back though or inbetween the wood, they grow fast and tall.

Alright, cherrys will probably be the best for this tank if your not using RO water or you could always get some low grade crsytal red. Blue Pearl Shrimp and Yellow Shrimp need the same water parameters as the Red Cherry Shrimp and should also be fine in this tank. Heres a little information i...

I have no idea what it is, but the shrimp dont touch it either do the otos, its just white slime coating the moss and well everything in the tank, it was only set up a few days ago though.

Can i bleach drip moss using a 1:10 bleach : water ration, will this kill the moss and will it also kill the 'White fuzz/slime' that its covered in?

That should be fine.

You might aswell just use no substrate for cherrys even though it does help you dont need it and there wont be much point wasting money on a substrate if your buying another for crystal reds.

Add some Iron, should help things out.
