Fluval G3 or Eheim Pro 4e

Trouble is when the filter failed I'd already rescaped, planted and flooded the tank. Seal replacement could of taken days/weeks and no guarantee that this was the solution! Also, my wife witnessed the leak. No way that filter was going back on. Suprisingly the LFS where I brought the filter...

Fluval G3 or Eheim Pro 4e

Due to a malfunction I`ve just swapped my G6 for a Eheim Pro4 600 on my TMC 600 (80ltr). I brought the G6 second hand and I had it running for roughly 3years on a Rio 180 and on this current tank. I know a lot of people have issues with the G3/G6 but I found it to be a great filter. Flow never...

Filter Death. Replacement required urgently. HELP!

Hi guys, thanks for taking the time to reply. I frantically researched options this morning and then ended up driving over to my nearest Eheim stockist. In the end I opted for the Pro4 600. The G6 was rated for 600ltr so figured it was kind of a like for like swap. It's been running for a...

Filter Death. Replacement required urgently. HELP!

Hi everyone. My trusty G6 has finally give up the ghost at the worst possible time. I've just rescaped my tank and flooded it and after reconnecting the filter it's leaking water. I'm on a mission today to find a replacement before all my hard work is undone (and money wasted). My mind is made...

    16/22mm clear hose stockists.

Cheers guys. I'll check out your recommendations. It's more the external Dia that comes up larger when I've purchased off eBay on a couple of occasions. This makes it difficult to fit connectors for my filter, inline heater etc. Eheim's are perfect, just wanted some identical to those but...

Hi there. Does anyone have any recommendations for 16/22mm clear hose stockists in and around South Cheshire or online? I've brought off eBay in the past but it always seems to come up larger Dia than is advertised. Makes it a real pain in the ass to fit securely to Lily's, inline heater etc...

Hi Jaap. I've been away from the site for a while and sadly I didn't create a journal which is unfortunate as I've learnt alot from this tank and others possibly could of too. The tank is a TMC Sig600 along with stand. I use a G6 for filtration and a Hydor ETH300 inline for temp (26c)...

Dosing In A New Set Up

Just a quick question guys. In a new set up when using Amazonia for example, if you were to perform 50% water changes daily throughout the 1st week what should your dosing regime be? Should you still alternate your Macro and Micro`s daily or dose both together! Thanks.

Newb to EI and low tech

Sorry for late reply, had a really busy weekend. I reckon 6/7 hrs is adequate for the plant mass you have at present so reducing the photoperiod is a good place to start. What's the stem at the back? Is it a hygrophila species? The growth looks really leggy at the base so this would indicate...

Hi Michael. I should of mentioned I planned on propagating the plants emersed and not submerged. The plan was to buy a pot of each species I intend on using for my scape and propagate the cuttings to bulk up the quantity. As for the substrate for the tank itself. Amazonia all the way.

    Shrimp Losses, Normal?

I would shut off CO2 a good hour before your lights, that way any CO2 in the water will be used up by your plants in the last hour of the photoperiod. Do you have good surface agitation?
