Hi, The Utricularia gibba was easy to identify, as were the roots from the java ferns, it looked more along the lines of a dying moss. Everything else is planted in and looking great so far, also started the cultures off late last night. Cheerz Matt

The problem with this is they are limited to the 1st 500 subscriptions. When i rang and spoke to them they told me they could not guarantee that i would get one. They also didnt offer anything else if i was unlucky, seems a bit unfair that they get the sub znd were left hoping for a tank.

Thanks George. I had basically the same theme in mind using one big trunk like piece of bogwood in the center, a few pieces running off that of a more 'root' like design to each side of the tank,then alder cones and leaf litter on the bottom along with sand substrate. I may even put in a 3D...

hey guys, I was just wondering if anybody knows the effects filter media such as nitrate remover and carbon have on plant fert and liquid carbon, for example will it remove or stop any nutrients for the plants. Cheerz Matt

one thing i never mentioned....my tank has sunken leaf litter and alder cones so theres tannins present in the water, its not really that bad,just a slight tint,could this be hindering the plants performance?

personally i wouldn't mix SA Dwarf cichlids with WA Dwarf cichlids, your apisto's (SA) would come off worse with the Kribs(WA) dominating them. Matt

its great for marine fish, they also have a good selection of tropical fish, including cichlids. They sell some plants but not alot.
