This has the makings of a good triangular composition. I like the tank size too, I'd quite like a tank this shape.

I still think Rummies are the fish for this scape. ;) My Nerites have never laid eggs, and even if they do I'm sure it won't post that much of a problem.

I do :lol: that's a minor issue in the scape, though. You'll sort it out. Like the other guys are saying, it's best to trim it down. Maybe not to the substrate, but about 5mm above.

Cool, I can recommend TGM's graded gravel - very nice stuff and cheap too. Keep us posted! :D

I don't think anyone can predict fish behaviour, it depends on the fish. Having said that, at 6cm they aren't large fish and small Rainbowfish aren't known for eating shrimp. I think you'll be ok, but you can only try it and see what happens. I've never kept them though.

The two main pros to getting a mac IMO is the great design, and the fact that there aren't many viruses for Mac's around, they tend to last a lot longer than Windows.

And they weren't exactly cheap to begin with! Ah well, we can dream eh. :cry:

As long as the gravel is fine enough and not sharp or anything, then they'll be fine. I'm pretty sure they'll be okay with those rainbows too.

Crypts are by far my favourite plant!

What species do you have now? Amazon Swords and Crypts have good root systems, although you'll need to let them establish themselves first. You could also have Java Ferns and Anubias attached to wood.

I'm planning to use a Fluval 105 on a 35l tank. The tank isn't very tall, and so the inlet/outlet are too large, especially the inlet being too long. Can anyone suggest another way of using them/some other kind of inlet/outlet that I could buy on the cheap?

I've never kept Cories, and want to get some this weekend. Having never kept them (or any bottom-feeder for that matter) I'm not too sure on what to feed them! Could anyone who has eperience with Cories recommend a food for them? Something that AE sell would be good. :D

I sorted out the Fluval 105 today! Everything for this tank is sorted now, except for the plants. I'll start a journal up once I've got things done. :D

I can't wait for this feature! Biotopes are my favourite thing. The tank that I'm planning to do now is goin to be a biotope. This will hopefully increase the number of biotopes entered into IAPLC, it's too scarce for my liking!

You probably lost your Rams because of rthe ammonia that Aquasoil realeases when first added. This is a nice looking tank, plants look quite healthy! Have you got a recent full-tank shot?

Nice! I'm sure he loves it. Here's a few simple tips that seem to work for me: - Switch the room lights off, tank iights on - as much light on the tank as possible - Flash off, but experiment with diffusing the flash by covering it with white paper (maybe several layers)

I've only got the 2008 booklet but I'm dissapointed with it. The photos are too small and there's not any information on any of the setups past the top 10 or so I think. You'd be better off buying a Nature Aquarium World book if you haven't already got all three, or from what I hear the Aqua...

I LOVE the second from last photo. It looks so natural and has great depth/sense of scale to it. If I didn't know this was an aquascape, that photo could've been taken outside.

I have to say that looks much better. Have you thought about sloping the substrate into a heap where the wood is?

I like it :D the only thing I would say is that the left two rocks dont' quite look right to me.

Thanks for all the info :D that's really helpful. This is a non-CO2-injection tank and stocking is neither under or over-stocked. So I gather it's ok to dose TPN+ according to the bottle, no Excel and a water change say once a month?

Do you think? I thought they'd be okay, I've seen many other tanks where people dose this loosely with good results. How much/often would you recommend I dose?

What exactly are you looking for? Photos of aquascapes? Look at the IAPC website, they've got years worth of top-quality competition photos on there.

When my iPod used to mess up I found the Apple help pages no help at all. They just stated the obvious, which didn't really help. I haven't had any experience when my iPod messes up big time, but I doubt it could be malware or anything like that. I don't think it would affect the iPod...

I doube it, I think they're too small and those snails have thicker shells.

If you're going to do this, cover the tank with cling film and if you can, get someone to mist inside the tank twice a day.

I think your best option is to go mound style.

I think the hardscape is fine, it works as a jungle-type scape. I think the gravel will add much more definition to the scape, have you thought about adding some Crypts?

I think a comfortable shoal for this tank would be 20 fish around 5cm. For the larger fish, I don't know about Silver Dollars. You might have problems with the Angelfish/Tetras if you go for that option but have you thought about a Dwarf Cichlid? Something like Rams or Apistos.
