what is your water temperature please?

My current favourite is limnophila sessiliflora....as it gives a nice bushy look as a background plant in my low tech.. Surprisingly low maintenance ...but i think it tends to loose its lower leaves if the lighting intensity in the area is too low...

Hi Dean,..:) you could try lileopsis brasiliensis a try,...mix it with some pearl grass (hemianthus micranthemoides) and crypt parva

Hi ...i was wondering if the above plant is really poisonous to fishes & shrimps if we plant it directly into the tank in its emmersed leaf form? I just planted them into my new low tech tank yesterday....i dont have any shrimps or fishes in my tank yet because it's still cycling,....so should...

Hi Troi...:)...sorry that i am being such a bother...but i finally got the tank set up....the nutrient base has a l mixture of a local organic potting soil mix : peat moss : coral sand .....at a ratio of 2:2:1 respectively...i had it capped with inert gravel...and been doing daily water...

I am so sorry to hijack this,...but i just bought 3 bags of an inert gravel that somewhat resembles the above sand,..not too sure if it's the same thing ,..but Troi could you be kind enough to tell me the size of that sandy like gravel please? Mine measures between 1.5 mm to 3 mm in diameter...

Troi...you mentioned about peat filtration ...how long can an average hand sized filter bag stuffed with peat moss (placed within the filter ...of course) last for in terms of providing increased dissolved organic carbon for the plants...? A ball park figure of course..

Hey:)....i dont think you need to switch to to osmosis at all....i just use regular tap water....you can use a bit of peat moss in a filter media bag and just place it into your filter if you want to soften the water.

I am loving the carpet thats going on in there Roy,....really nice:). Amazing job.

I think you can use lots of soil for your tank since its not that tall anyways....

Hi Aristotelis,,,:). Welcome to the forum mate. I think if you are planning on using proper aquarium soils ...my first choice would be aquasoil amazonia by ADA. It is supposed to have lots of peat in it and it is pretty hard to crumble ...so you don't really have to worry about your anaerobic...
