    Wood airstones for Yeast CO2?

Dennerle do a MINI VERSION OF THE FLIPPER if you've got a small tank.

    Diy CO2 yeast question

I had good results with using two bottles of DIY CO2 with a splitter connecting them to one tube. Each bottle produced CO2 for about 2 weeks, but gave good results for a week then began to decline. So filling one one week and the other the following week gave me a fairly consistent supply. I...

    New 20l Nano Cube

I really like that, it's very dramatic and looks a lot bigger than 20litres. Okay, I'll rethink, maybe put in all that wood and more rocks and see how it looks...

    New 20l Nano Cube

Yeah, the wood is great, my first time using Manzanite, Aquaessentials did me proud with the rock and wood. I think creating that same sense of scale is my aim, but obviously hard to do, I might smash up some of those rocks into smaller pieces to scatter around the front area and that might...

    New 20l Nano Cube

Hi This is my first new tank for a long time, about a year and half. In that time, I've just had a few shrimp from my last tank in a small cube. But this new tank marks my return to aquascaping. I've been collecting the stuff for a few months now and hope to plant up in a week or two. Specs...

"Wabi garden" - Wabi Kusa project

I really love this thread, and definitely intend to have a go myself at some point. I'll be collecting plants when I'm out cycling over the summer too.

    Soaking Manzanita Wood

Thanks for both replies, good news that it doesn't take two weeks in a bucket!

    Soaking Manzanita Wood

Does Manzanita wood need to be soaked prior to 'scaping? I'm about to use it for the first time on my new tank. If so, does anybody have any idea how long for?

    Arcadia Arc Cube - Planted

On looking more closely at the Fluval nano, I realised that you use it to fill up a resevoir daily that then disperses into the water during the course of the day. Not really what I had in mind, and for a small set-up the resevoir is a bit bulky. How does the Colombo work? Can it be used with a...

    Arcadia Arc Cube - Planted

I'd be really interested to know how you get on with the Fluval mini CO2 set-up. I'm considering this for my 20l Dennerle Cube, too. Not sure how long the cannisters would last, though and how expensive it will be to run.

    ?????? (Mountain Savannah)

I've been thinking of getting one of these lights for a small pico cube. Looks like it throws out a lot of light from the photos. What do you think of it? What is the quality of the light like?

Heather Wood - Anybody know how to prepare it?

I've been looking to improve my tiny moss pico with a couple of shrimp in it. I read here that Heather Wood is safe to use, so I went to the local park today and collected a couple of dead twigs of it from the Alpine Garden! It's very attractive stuff, I'm looking forward to using it, but how do...

    Anyone used these LED lights?

Just looked for the Superfish lights and realised that AE sells them. Had never spotted them there before. http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/superfish-aqua-qube-light-kit-9w-p-5080.html Looks pretty good. Still a little bulky compared to the LED ones. I guess that's the compromise to be made...

    Anyone used these LED lights?

Thanks for all the information. Losing 50% of the LEDs within a year is pretty bad. Pity. I like the minimalist look of those lights. I might have to think again about an Arc Pod, but I haven't been too impressed with those pinky bulbs I've seen in them. Thanks again.

    Anyone used these LED lights?

Does anybody have any experience of using these LED lights on nano tanks? http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/aquagro-micro-habitat-led-light-p-5303.html http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nano-Aquarium-Fish-Tank-Lighting/dp/B0040YV0JM I'm thinking of using one on an 8 inch cube, hopefully growing HC and...
