Talk to me about growing hygrophila pinnatifida low tech?

I had success growing it in my low tech tank (very soft, Devon water), essentially just scrambling through the wood and other plants (ie, not planted in substrate). It was growing in the upper half of the tank, so better light. I took some and glued it to a rock and placed it at substrate level...

    Flexi Mini attempt

Looking good! I was interested to see this, because I'm about to overhaul my small tank (similar dimensions), and I've also just bought the same filter. I couldn't see a heater on your list of equipment, though; have you added one to your filter?

    Humidity % in emersed propagation

For what it's worth, I've had some Pogostemon helferii growing in a semi-transparent plastic box for about 6 weeks now (lid on, using coir as a substrate), and it's growing well. It is very high humidity, though.

    My 120L Soil tank

This is a stunning tank - the water is so clear, and it's lovely to see such that healthy plants can grow in a low tech set up. It's (almost!) inspiring me to redo my tank with a soil substrate. Sorry about your shrimps, though. It does seem suspect if one was DOA.

    Ants/Termites eating my wood.

I think your tank is absolutely lovely, and I hope the insects don't destroy what you've achieved. If you can see the insects above ground, then they're very unlikely to be termites. There are some species of termites that forage above ground in your neck of the woods, but you almost certainly...

    Epiphyte Branch

That's already looking really lovely. What species of orchids did you choose in the end? And how are you caring for them - do they need regular spraying, or is the high humidity from being above water sufficient?
