    Newbie with freshly planted Glosso

Ah ok :) Thanks for the advice, will up the dosage and have a look for TPN :) Have seen the small CO2 set ups, but they get used up quite quickly don't they? Can easily change the tube, so will look into that, and there is pretty good flow in the tank, even on min the filter kicks out the water...

    Newbie with freshly planted Glosso

Hi there :) I've got an Aqua 40, which is 25L with the inbuilt light. It matured with the filter for around 4 weeks before plants, and another week before fish (guppies, 3 females and 5 fry!). It's now probably 7-8 weeks of it being set up from start to finish. It has TetraPlant Complete...

    Desk Nano, your input? :)

Decided to go for guppies, they were acting as feeders in my axie tank for the last week, felt too bad and have moved them into this tank. Never gonna use feeder fish again, none were eaten :P but felt bad anyway, lol.

    Desk Nano, your input? :)

Have purchased some plants and used tweezers to put all the little seperate plantlets in! I bought 2 Cyperus Helferi as the background, and 3 Glossostigma Elatinoides (all potted and from Maidenhead Aquatics). Seem to be very healthy plants and pleased with how they look, some photos to come...

    Desk Nano, your input? :)

It's been about a month now and the progress with parameters seem good, but haven't tested in two weeks, hopefully it will have fully cycled by now. Still considering what fish will be going in. Have picked up a beautiful piece of granite as the centre rock, looking around for some more...

    Nano Scape (hogans alley)

I really like the positioning of your Dragon Stone, and the depth of the substrate at the back, looks really natural, well done! :D

    Desk Nano, your input? :)

Just done some parameters, with API droppers. Ammonia: 0.25ppm NitrIte: 0ppm NitrAte: 20ppm pH: 7.8 ish. My Nitrate in my other tanks is usually around 35ppm, and ph about 8.4. High I know :P but I take plenty of precautions! Going to add an ammonia source, i.e. some fish flake.

    Desk Nano, your input? :)

Ah cool, glad to know that I can actually keep them! :D Not sure if there will be enough hiding spaces though, unless dense cabomba would be enough? And, I thought using easycarbo was similar to using CO2, just less sophisticated? Not too keen on using Java Fern, as I have that in my other...

    Desk Nano, your input? :)

Hey there guys! I'm 18, been interested in keeping fish for the past year. I currently have 2 beautiful Ranchus, Fuji and MotoMoto, along with Golden Zebra Danios, White Cloud Mountain Minnows, Apple Snails (plus new hatchlings :D). I also have two juvenile axolotls :) I have a lot of plants in...

Tetra Complete Substrate, to cap or not to cap?

I decided to go ahead and use the Tetra substrate, and I capped with sand that I already had (unipac). Got the dechlorinated water in and set up the heater and filter. I also dosed with bacterlife, what good this will do I don't know, but I suppose it's habit  There aren't any...

Tetra Complete Substrate, to cap or not to cap?

Thanks for the advice. It would be cheaper to keep it and cap it, then get something like ADA Amazonia...but it is much prettier! Hmm, will have to have a think about it! And if I was to get a puffer, he'd be on his own (:() and with some snails to eat! It's one species or the other at the...

Tetra Complete Substrate, to cap or not to cap?

Hey there :) Long time lurker here! I'm currently setting up my new nano tank to be my first true aquascape. It's an Aqua 40, about 25L, with a built in light, internal heater and filter (they were free, would have preferred external :P). Anyway, I'm at my first hurdle...I bought Tetra...
