right, at last I have got some updates for you all! It is really taking off! a few slight internal tweaks to the filter, now it is running almost silently! and also have bought a few plants from tropica, and planted it up a little, only to get me started, so I still need to wait for it to all...

Thanks, I am quite pleased with the filter although it is a bit of a pain, it takes up a lot of room, but once I can grow some moss on it then it will look fine! Thanks for the comments!

Yes, I second play sand, and if you put in a few root tab's it is easily converted into a good planting substrate, it is useful to have around as well because you can use it to cap other substrates.

What i found slightly funny, is that they recommend you have a pond in the shade to reduce algae, which is what we have, but all the leaves fall off the tree's and make the pond go green anyway!

Yes, that is why I boil them, once boiled they don't sting, and the acid's are broken down by a naturally occurring enzyme in the nettles, so I wouldn't imagine it is a problem! :D I am very happy with my co2's current production, so I dont think it will be an issue!

yes, that is what I did with the yeast, but I just shook it all up together in the bottle and it was producing with in 40min! There are nettles in my tank because the apple snail's eat it and it is high in calcium for their shell's!
