Dannyh, the moss used is just standard java moss

I use a piece of paracord and hot water. 3 minutes later they are clean

removed the mirror and replaced it with a black background, gives a nice contrast with the moss. moved some stones around on the right side to give the scape some more space.

it grows really good emersed :) i believe in its original habbitat it also grows submersed and emersed in streams and rocks. i have removed the glass for filming :) tnx for all the positive reactions, i am really happy with this tank!

i use no substrate at all, all plants are growing directly on the background or wood, except for the plant in the top left corner, there is a little substrate (normal potting earth). The bromeliads are attached with a nylon panty to the vines.

you mean what kind of plants go at what height ? i am not someone who does things by the book, so i try all kinds of stuff with the plants. it is not so much the height that makes a difference (although some species need to stay high due to the light they need) but most of them is more about wet...

the tank is 110cm high, 85cm width, and 60cm deep. I use 2 55watt PL's, 1 36watt PL light en a UV light for the lizzards.

@maloney i use a eheim 600 internal pump ( capable of 1,3 meters high ) first plants are in, now it just needs to grow and grow..

added a extra layer of grout/epoxy to obtain a better stonelook

i use white grout for wet areas with an elastic bond mixed with some black paint. testing some colours

first thin layer of grout applied for 75%

finished the styro/poly just a few minutes ago. tomorow i will start with a thin layer of grout.

doesn't go as fast as i hoped due to other stuff i need to do, but yesterday i had a spare hour so here is a small update i am trying to fit the slate not completely horizontal, because if i do that in the whole viv it will look to artificial, so every few layers i try to tilt the slate a bit...

Yeah those tricolors :) Daddy Tricolor with tadpoles on his back, on his way to find a place to drop them in the water. they are not poisonous anymore, due to their diet. most of these frogs obtain their poison from the food they eat (fire ants etc) in my vivarium they get normal fruitflies.

i feed puffy snails, cherry shrimps and muquito larve. he is alone in a 40 litre tank btw

i won't i guess... unless i get some kind of jetstream on it. but when i show it to you guys when i am done we will hopefully be able to see a picture with the water flowing like above .

i am gonna leave it like this ;) i will use black and grey grout and finish with several epoxy layers (with more pigments) to give the slate a more wetter look en hopefully a sense of stone :)

tnx for all the positive comments :) i will be changing the layout drasticly over the upcoming months. I want to make something like this. will need some new pomps for the waterfall and have to make a complete new background. But when i saw this picture i was sold.... I need to make this... :)

maintenance is pretty easy, i cut the plants once every 2 weeks, refresh a bucket of water each week and drop a bottle of fruitflies in every week. and clean the glass once a week

stupid question, but i assume the live scaping is for UK ukaps members only?

have to be honest with you, i don't mist.. at all. All i have is a background dripping system, that drips some water every 3 hours on the background. humidity is ok due to the heated waterpart in the front that evaporates all day long. as you can see, all is growing well

i took the advice from Dziabag with the filters, looks a lot better this way :) i already had some mosses on the branches, which is also starting to grow nicely :) The glosso is also starting to form a carpet, so i am a happy man.

changed the layout a little, i've put some fern in the right tank aswell, to make it look more like 1 big tank.

they are book ends, but i don't have any books;) water and plants added today, i didn't have enough time to plant the glosso stem by stem, so i planted it in little clutches, hopefully it will form a nice carpet soon. in the back i planted christmas moss (grown onto a sheet of filter foam...

The tanks are 40 litres each, got a filter in each tank, i could also put 13 in 1 tank and 12 in the other and add shrimp to both tanks. and tnx for the positive replys!

Inspired by the tanks i saw in a video of ukaps in a art gallery, i am trying to combine 2 styles i had seen. there was 1 big tank, with a large piece of wood, that was chopped and placed on the outside of the tank, i thought it looked amazing! Then i saw the triptych tanks and i thought let's...

at the moment i do not add pressurized co2, i do add easycarbo and profito. not yet changed the lights (stock lights are really bad). i am planning on adding led bulbs, but still need to find somewhere i can buy them (maybe someone can direct me @ something on the internet?) there is some space...

it has been a while ago that i posted something here, but with "vivarium" coming up in march i am trying to set up a fluval edge tank for the ADA stand. (i am one of many people that help at "vivarium" each year) i am by no means a expert on scaping, so do not expect to much from this :) this...

I already posted some pics of my viv in a other thread, but i've got a lot more pics to share. the viv is 100cm high 80cm width and 60cm deep these pics are from the period i got the tank (end 2008) till today happy vieweing :) this is how i bought the viv (second hand, made by a belgium shop)...

rearranged the tank a little to give it more flow all plants are doing great as well as the galaxys :)

been adding bio co2 since a few days, plants are doing very well :) the flame moss is starting to grow and the HC also grows and stays low so far.

@garuf the front isn't always open, just for the photo's ;) ( you can see the glass panel on the floor in the picture. to get rid of the condensation there are 3 vent strips in the tank 1 at the lower front, right where the glasspanel should go. 2 at the top 1 in front and 1 in the back. this...
