    CO2 Bottle Thread Adapter

Hi, Thanks for the tip. But I decided to go with another FE and just *MAKE* space for it. That JBL regulator is pretty expensive!

On second thought, might just go with another FE setup (the missus will just have to accept I am going to move some of her sh*t out the way :-D )

    CO2 Bottle Thread Adapter

Any luck on this? For space reasons I am looking for the same thing, CO2 regulator (+ solenoid) that is DIN 477 than can be used with the disposable welding bottles.

Cheap pressurised CO2 system DIY guide

Hi, Is there an adaptor that can take these disposable bottles to make it DIN 477 combatible? I followed Sam's original tutorial on making an FE Co2 system and it worked great! Now I would like to do something similiar for a nano (but I don't have space for another FE) and I would like to...

@ian_m What a great idea! I am looking for a place near Godalming / Guildford that can refill 2kg FE, but will use your tip to see who might be able to do this.

    Spray bar or nozzles?

Thanks for the nice article. Yeah a lot of people new to the hobby make the mistake of thinking that an airstone pumps o2 into the aquarium when in fact it is all just about agitating the surface to get better gas exchange. The pre-filter is certainly an idea, it might reduce the flow of the...

    Spray bar or nozzles?

I have a Fluval 306 (in a 110l tank) and changed from the duck beak nozzle to a spray bar to get better surface agitation as well as better circulation. My tank develops nasty brown string like Algae as soon as the circulation takes a dive. I currently have the problem where as the filter's...

Hi, Thanks for the advice, after doing some more research it definetly looks like planaria. I was overfeeding the fish a bit and skipped a weekly water change.

    Shopping blunder

The only negative thing I can say about my setup and to any one else buying the same equipment is to not use the check valve that comes with the TMC. The one I got was a green cheap looking one, used it and in about 2 weeks the valve inside broke (or something) and I got water in to the...

    Shopping blunder

If I were you I would just sell the bottle and go with a Fire Extinguisher than buying an adapter that you only going to use on the one bottle. I bought the TMC V2 + Solenoid from AquaEssentials ( @AquaEssentials) http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/tmc-v2- ... -3702.html and the CO2 FE from here...

Worm like things on the glass...?

Hi, I have recently started seeing these white worm like creatures on the glass of my small aquarium. They move around and I think they are only on the glass (for now). They might also be multiplying or atleast appear to be getting more. Any ideas of what this might be and how I can get rid of...

What to feed my Otts and plec ie cucumber

I take a courgette, slice it in 2 or 3, put it in a bowl with water, and then just microwave it 30 seconds at a time and poke it with a fork until the fork can pierce it with not to much force (this is the quick hack method, you can steam it aswell). Important not to over do it i.e. it becomes...

What to feed my Otts and plec ie cucumber

My ottos love zuccini (courgette)! I also feed it to my plecos (peppermint, blue phantom, green phantom) and the other fish seem to love it aswell. I have tried feeding cucumber but my fish dont seem to like it. I slightly boil the veg and then keep it in freezer. Ottos eating courgette by...

I have bought plants and products from http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/ and they have excellent customer service and the plants are from Aquafluer and are shipped to you in a very good condition. Also you can ask Richard anything on twitter @AquaEssentials or via email and he will always give...

    Holes in my plants!

Haha funny enough I suspected that it might have been the ottos! But it makes total sense that it is one of the plecos and most likely the blue phantom (he is seeming to be getting bigger). Thanks for the advice. I guess I will buy hardier plants and feed them more veggies.

    Holes in my plants!

Hi, Holes in Amazon Swords! by andrejacobs81, on Flickr So my planted tank was doing fine for a couple of months and now recently I am seeing lots and lots of holes in the leaves of my plants! Mainly my amazon swords (think these were ecinodorus rosea). Anybody have an idea what is causing...

What type of algae is this? Please help a noob :-)

So it seems most of the problems was due to a new tank being cycled fishless. I have since added about 8 ottos, 6 amano shrimp and 2 plecos (phantom blue and peppermint) and they have taken care of most algae. The only ones thats seem to be creeping back now recently is the hair like ones from...

What type of algae is this? Please help a noob :-)

This is why I love this forum, soooo much great info from the members! Thanks all for the advice, I have cut the lighting to 6 hours with no siesta and the CO2 now comes on 2 hours in advance and stop 30 minutes before shut off time. I have stopped adding the algaecite. I will be adding...

    RO unit specs?

    40 cm cube

Thanks, yeah a diagram later will be nice. The explanation makes totally sense. I was actually thinking of the Eheim 600 compact for this if I were to make one. Really nice little pump, I use it to do water changes with.

Where do you guys buy / get your twigly bits of wood ?

AquaEssentials.co.uk and thegreenmachineonline.com sell wood pieces where you can individually see the actual piece along with a measuring tape to get a sense of size. My nearest Maidenhead aquatics has a big range of wood (Guildford). I think Sumatra or redmoor is the twigly type wood.

    Here I am again!

I am no expert on algae but I would test the water (especially the tap water). Submersible pump for water changes

I swear by Seachem Prime! Still hard to believe that a very small amount does the job. I just finished a small bottle after having used it for over a year and a half on a small 40 litre aquarium with ~30-50% water changes every week and overdosing because it is hard measuring the exact small...

SENEYE minireview with pics and video

Lone fish gasping & can't swim.

It seems a bit risky for me that you fill the tank with new water straight from the tap. The problem with water supplies is that it can't always be consistent. I have had a couple of times where the chlorine in the water was so much I could have sweared it was bleach coming through (exagerated...

SENEYE minireview with pics and video

So the website says £6 per month for a slide (seneye+) however you can't buy/sign up from the website you have to buy from eBay listing. The eBay price says £18, what is up with that. I think I will wait a bit longer and see how this thing plays out before I get a seneye.
