Not sure about that, may depend on the texture of the filter, moss tends to attach to rough surfaces a lot better than smooth ones, not sure what filter you have, but you could try attaching it to the filter with fishing line..... if that is practical?! Cant see the moss attaching to the glass...

Its looking very good considering some of the rough treatment, whatever you re doing is working. A trim once a month should keep it looking nice and dense.

Wow, thats news to me, I had kept it but never thought of attaching it to any of my decor, so I take it you just tie it on to stone/wood as you would with Anubias, and the roots eventually take hold?
