The Mercure Hotel in Nieuwegein would be the best option.

The 6th edition of Vivarium will take place during the weekend of November 22nd & 23rd in The Homeboxx, Nieuwegein (near Utrecht, Netherlands). Lectures, workshops, showaquariums, contests and more than 100 different exhibitors are all combined in this event for the aquarium and terrarium hobby...

Well, my first idea was that you could book through me, the problem is that to get the right rates I need to prepay the rooms bij credit card. That is not a big deal by itself, but it also means that when you plunder the minibar, my credit card gets billed as well....... I am still thinking...

People that wish to make use of the Mercure hotel better check the rates through us first.

For both visit the Dutch Aquascpaing booth; will be close to the UKAPs one and has that book, many different types of wood (including a large Manzanita shipment) and rocks and several brands of soils and fertilizers available.

It is all already happening THIS month! My team is doing really overtime now to prepare everything, arrange final exhibitors requests and finalize the floorplan. I can pormise you one thing; this will be the best edition so far. So you all there!

Just like last year the UKAPS team is doing our aquascaping workshops. They will scape a tank size 120*60*50 on both days. Last year the workshops were extremely well received.

Yes, the mercure will get rich from Vivarium :-) We have our guests in that hotel as well, so who knows you will bump into Claus Christensen (former CEO of Tropica), Lars Green (current CEO of Tropica), Christel Kasselmann, Bernd Degen or Chris Lukhaup.

Hi guys, Can I already get a list of names here of people that are planning to sleep in the UKAPS booth? I need to give numbers to the fire department on this issue.

Hannover is a public event; the aquarium part however is just a small part of the total animal event.

I have also seen the first bits of results, unfortunately our hero's did not end up in the top three. That is no shame, as even Oliver Knott did not finish amongst the top three. But than again from the first pics i can see there are some amazing pieces of work created:

Guys, staying at the floor is not a problem, and with those prices for a two person room, it is hardly worth it. But anybody whom still wishes to sleep at the UKAPS stand, is more than welcome. Just make sure to at least bring a sleeping bag.

Guys, if you want to go really cheap: the above is for max 3 people, including bathroom and toilet. EUR 40 per night they say, bt you need to call them for availability and prizes. Max 2 persons, prices from EUR 45 per night; call for availbility and prizes.

But we are now eagerly awaiting todays inspiration!

No, unfortunately not as we do wish to keep our own camping site private. But a few are staying in a hotel already, so I am sure you can work out a showering schedule in those rooms.... :idea:

I was just oing to post that as well; there are so many companies selling fish, shrimp and other inhabitants,thatit should be easy enoughto arrange something with them.

Just that we need to be able to trust that you remain away from the other stands during closing hours and do not mind for our own crew to have a drink till into the night :lol:

Furthermore, eventhough Bjorns (Fluo) scape is stunning, it cannot be called a Dutch scape as it leans more towards a seprate style between Dutch and Nature.

Which, as you should mention, is a mandatory haircut when visiting Vivarium.

Great to see such enthousiasm! :thumbup: One small correction though, as the show is in March (the weekend of the 26th and 27th) and not in February. I will keep you all posted on the preparations of the coming show (and aquascaping competition!!!) in our sponsor forum.

Well, you can be sure they did! I would like to thank Graeme, Dan and Stu for stunning work they did during our event. If it is up to us, they will be invited for the next few years to be our anually hosted aquascaping team. The only downer to the whole event is that I did not have more time...

So, who is coming to Holland?

On each of the two days they will hold a big workshop on the main stage, but during both days some work will be done on their own stand as well.

Ok guys, I have to option to reserve the hotel for EUR 119,- from Friday till Sunday, does not matter if it is a two person or 1 person room. It is including breakfast. I need to know asap if anybody wants to book through us.

Ok, I am on it! I will let you know once I can get you the rates for the Mercure Hotel in Nieuwegein, which is very close to the venue. It should be around EUR 70,- a night, including breakfast and usage of full hotel facilities (swimming pool, sauna, fitness).

If there is assitance needed in finding a descend hotel close to the venue (and make use of the group rates we already have as Vivarium organizer) just give me a shout.
