    low tech with gravel

I use to have 60l tank run without any fertilisers co2 with gravel. I had no problem no algaes I used tap water for water change very soft. I had a few messy fish with I guest produced enough waste/frerts for plants. Only problem is that you are quite limited with types of plants you can grow...

    My litlle 250L garden.

Hi George, I've been keeping co2 always at the highest level possible. But at the same time I make sure that there is plenty of oxygen. To be honest I changed whole method of running my tank. Simply I can't use EI method because it does't work for me. The main difference between EI and pmdd...

    Using Phosphoric acid

I found sulfuric acid works better (battery electrolyte). You must monitoring KH level. If you add too much acid and your KH goes to 0, then any more acid will drastically drop ph. Also don't measure ph straight after adding acid as it will always be lower at the beginning due to co2...

    CO2 ferplast mixer

I used to have diy mixer like this one and warked exactly the same way. It warked very well but it wasn't efficient enough for my 200l tank but for 20l will be definitely more than enough. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

    CO2 reactor with atomizer.

The reason why I used atomiser was I had one anyway and I wanted to avoid to drill any holes in canister. Whole idea was to inject co2 trough atomiser which produces micro bubbles and go to reactor where they stick to bioballs and slowly dissolve. I had I alternative idea to use T connector...

    CO2 reactor with atomizer.

It probably does reduce flow a little bit but not much. One good think about it so far is that I don't have sparky water in tank anymore which is good becouse it looked cloudy. I reduced co2 to 2 bubbles per second as I noticed that angels started breathing faster. Sent from my GT-I9300 using...

    CO2 reactor with atomizer.

Hi there Due to my problem with algae, I decided to build more efficient co2 system to make sure I have got no more issues with lack of co2 in my tank. This is my baby. I put Atomizer before reactor. What do you think?

    Atomiser diffuser 16/2mm

Hi everyone. For the last few months I have been trying sort my problem with algaes out but unfortunately without any improvements. My litlle 250L garden.

You are probably right about that, it is confusing becouse they are very dark green and layer is quite thick on leaves My idea was to dose the ferts using PMDD method but large amount of no3 in my tap water breaks everything I think. 20 ml's of my DIY 'all in one' gives 1,4ppm no3, 1,6ppm K...

Thank you Tim and LondonDragon for your reply. hi guys Little update. I took the reflector of, it seems to me a bit dark now, but I had been always using a lot light maybe that is way. I started using diy PMDD+PO4 double dosage and diy micro almost triple dosage. On top of that I dose a lot of co2 (water looks like sparkling water) I put...

Thanks, I was just wondering if you put first Kh2po4, then trace and at the end e202 and e300 wouldn't phosphate damage the iron before putting preserves. Can you tell me which repice did you use to make all in one? And does it work well? didn't you have to add extra iron, K or Mg? Any way...

    My litlle 250L garden.

Ady34, I received E202 and E300, added to Micro and almost instantly changed colour from brown to olive green. is that ok? Do you know, when you make "all in one" does it matter which order you add ingredients? Cheers Tom

A New Adventure (a jungle mess)

Hi Ian. Can you tell my if you still use TPN+? And how much do you dose it? By the way your tank looks really good!
  25. thomas.bham

    My litlle 250L garden.

Yes you're right :-) But I've ordered them today :-) I will do that way then. So first change will be new adding new diy ferts. Cheers Tom
  26. thomas.bham

    My litlle 250L garden.

Ok Ady34, I've done some diy tpn+ from james'plantedtank web. I just mixed micro and macro separately. I am just wondering whether I should dose standard dosage of macro and increase dosage of micro only?
  27. thomas.bham

    My litlle 250L garden.

No all algaes are new. Co2 turns on 2 hours before light switch on and it turns of 1 hour before light switch off. lightening time is 8 hours.
  28. thomas.bham

    My litlle 250L garden.

wooow:wideyed: So with my plant mass and light, how much you reckon should I dose it?
  29. thomas.bham

    My litlle 250L garden.

Ok then, I will start dosing carbon. How much TPN did you have to use? I am going to make "all in one" using receipt from James' planted tank and see what happens.

    Tropica Plant Nutrition discontinued? alternatives?

I looked at this webside and they are using the E300 Ascorbic Acid and E202 Potassium Sorbate, I guess they are as antioxidants/preserves? My question is where i can get them from? Is it really necessary to use then if I wouldn't mix macro with trace elements? unless it is for different purpose?
