Large water changes - the practicalities

    c02 Reactors

Once the gas reaches the top of the reactor due to not fully dissolving whilst rising up, it is the turbulence cause by the water entering the reactor that dissolves the co2 further, regardless of how the co2 is diffused you are missing my point that it is misleading saying there is no point...

    c02 Reactors

That's no exactly true, the turbulence of the water going from a small diameter, high pressure, to large diameter lower pressure causes diffusion of the co2. So to say there is no point having one is miss leading. There might be an argument for the media on larger tanks with a higher co2 demand...

I'm curious as to your reasoning behind having two filters, are they both going to be full of media, or are you laving one empty purely for flow? 36. jonnyjr

    Changing co2 FE

It is just a case of releasing the handle on the FE so it is in the closed position. Then unscrewing the nut for the regulator. You should replace the sealing washer between the reg and new FE then tighten it up as before and squeeze the handle down checking for no leaks.

    Hydor ETH on Filter Inlet?

I might have been doing something wrong I just found not enough water was getting into the filter. To try it out first before cutting your hose, slowly close off the tap on the inlet into the filter, this would be some indication as to how the filter will act with reduced flow. Jon
