I've just replaced my T8's with T5's on my Rio 240, now I can't comment on the plant growth, yet, but I can say that my tank looks way better with the T5's. :thumbup:

Stating the obvious here, but you never know. Have you fully opened the valve on your C02 bottle itself? :wink:

Have you tried your local Paintball store/site? Failing that contact local fire companies.

I've gone with 3 drops, 2 is very faint, 4 is quite strong. I've done a little work with the flow and where to C02 bubbles are being taken in the tank, as well as significantly reducing the surface agitation. First signs are good so hopefully my tank has taken another step forward.

I'm running my 240ltr with a 2kg Co2 tank, it is supplying 2 spiro 9000 diffusers which are running at around 3 bps each, yet I still have a darkish green drop checker all the time and algae issues. Anyone got any ideas? Lights are 2X39W T8's on for 8 hours a day, Co2 on 2 hours before lights on...

Pentazona Barbs. They're non aggressive and shoal beautifully if you have 8+.

Have you looked into EI? I found it hard to get my head around at first but when it clicked I realised how simple it was. I'm less than a week into EI dosing and I can see an improvement in a couple of my plants already compared to using the Flourish plant pack ferts, it's a damn site cheaper too.

I have just taken out the drop checker, given it a quick clean (with RO water only) and have refilled it with 1.5ml RO water and 4 drops of reagent, this is the colour it goes straight away and turns more of a yellow after being in the tank for a while. I know using 4dkh solution is better...

Ah, that answers the trace bit then TYVM. :D So doing EI as alternate days ferts/traces with a rest day on Sunday when I do the water change now looks the best way to go. Do I just need to get KN03 - KH2P04 and trace elements? I have pretty hard water so shouldn't need any GH booster.
