Thanks! The light is the standard unit that comes with the Tropica Aquacube. It's moulded to the base of the cube.

Hi Foxfish, Aquajardin have a store near to Southampton and have a good range of substrates including the ADA soils. Worth checking out if you're in the area. I'm currently using Florabase Columbo with good results although I found the grain size a bit large for my liking. Cheers Dan

Hi all, I work for a lighting company and I’ve been given the choice of 2 ex-sample lights for a new 25cm cube that I’m planning. The cube will be set up using florabase substrate and dosed with liquid carbon and tpn+, if that helps at all!? I was wondering which one would be best suited...

My main focus on your current scape is on the piece of wood in the centre of the tank...I cant help but look at it. Which ultimately takes away the beauty of the plants in your tank, if that makes sense?!? Im no expert but try using the golden ratio to help with positioning the wood. Perhaps if...

I've re-scaped today using the same substrate, same plants, same hardscape and will be using the same matured filter. Also I've filled the tank with de-chlorinated water. Is it safe to add fish tomorrow if I leave the filter on the new setup over night? Many thanks Dan

DAY 1 I got in tonight to find the filter not working correctly, lots of trapped air?! I also noticed that there were lots of kinks in the tubing also so after a quick move around and a minor lounge flood ( :oops: ) I finally got the filter working correctly. I started up the CO2 and cranked...

+1! :thumbup: Quick update - I managed to steal a few hours on Sunday for a trip the LFS. I picked up 7 Tropica pots for £17 which I was pleased with. I Didn’t manage to get all the plants required but I’ve planted up all that I did buy, filled with water and kick started the filter...

Ah there it is..Nice one Steve, photo looks ok to me (?!) but I bet it looks better in the flesh (as they always do imo) I do like this though.. I imagine it would be a fairly easy tank to maintain/prune with all the space around the island. It seems to give a very clean look which I like.

That is kind of why I wanted the Nile Sand, due to grain size I imagined it would hold bottom better and not waft around as much as plain sand during maintenance etc. It's also the perfect colour for what I'm after. The Unipac Arctic is quite nice but might be a bit grey in colour... It's...

Can anyone give me any tips for taking good shots of my tank with my compact? My camera is a Panasonic DMC-FX12 and the current setting are: "Normal Picture" Exposure +1 ISD100 No Flash I'm not expecting anything too great but any advice would be welcomed? I seem to get better pictures...

Yeah the ember's are cool little fish, I find the orange gives a nice contrast against the all the greens. I've definitely learnt a lot from this tank when it comes to substrate and hardscape positioning. That's what this tank is all about.. :wink: Cheers Ad, I miss that cave.. I'm not over...
