Simply give it a "flat top" and carefully surface skim with a wet and dry vacuum. This normally clears our 150ltr in less than a minute.

We are running our Aqua Medic inline reactors on large eheims with 17mm pipework so we are a little confused about them coming fitted for 12mm.our complaint is that they dont come fitted for the smaller pipework. A good idea of James's though to fit a bleed pipe which runs into the tank directly.

We find that a large flexible "gorilla" tub with a running hose inside is good. The real magic part though is a plaster mixing bit placed in an electric drill which agitates the gravel with minimum effort.

Drilling 5ml holes in each piece and then pinning together with long wooden dowelling which will swell for a tighter fit on contact with water is effective on suitable pieces.

The fish are Aplocheilichthys Normani ( Normans Lampeye). They will grow to about 4cm, we will reduce the numbers as they gain in size. We added some Limnobium Laevigatum as the little fellows seem to enjoy the security it affords.
