Sorry about the poor image....dont have an expensive camera. After some disasters my tank is starting to take shape, I still have a lot to learn, but I'm always reading the pages on the forum and trying to take it all in :D

No Clive I had both the filters on max....I have removed one of the Koralia number 2's and have the one remaining on a timer, it comes on and goes off the same time as the Co2 running through the two Up Atomisers....Gives the fish a breather from the fast flow!! I'm going to stick with the two...

OMG 5 weeks no algae!!!! Changed the 28w back to a shorter 39w just to help the growth a little, first sign of the bad stuff coming back, its back to the trusted 28w :lol:

Ok as you see I have added extra plants. I'm still getting a line of the BGA at the very front of the tank which keeps coming back, it would appear that I have ample flow. Should I disturb the soil to get at it? Is there anything I'm missing?

update on BGA at the front in patches..here is a new photo, I would like to fix this before any new plants go in. CO2 (5kg F/E) and Light times CO2 - 9am until 9pm Lights 2 sets of 2 x 39W 2x 39W 2pm – 11pm 2x 39W 4.30pm – 7.30pm close up of one of the patches

Update I have two Koralia number 2 (new type) on the back wall facing forward. I have replaced the Eheim Pro 3 2080 with 2 Eheim Pro 3 2075's All the hair algae that was on the leaves and Koralia's has vanished :P for now at least :clap: BUT....I am starting to get the BGA at the front of...

anyway we are looking a little tidier now :D

Stu this proved to be very popular....it sold while I was setting the other 2 up

after filling it up to just below the final compartment and with the motor switched on, the last few presses where enough to get it started...a few more pushes just to get those last few stubborn bubbles out Right now who wants the big one?

and just as I thought the first one might have been a faulty one....wo the priming of these things are a nightmare...still pressing the second one!

Tank 240l I have the Eheim Pro 3 2080 I want to change this and get two smaller filters to fit inside my cabinet...any recomendations please...obviously need to get as close to 10x as possible!! :D

Well my nice algae free tank lasted for about two week.....the bottom is now covered yet again in the dreaded stuff about to call it a day totally pi$$ed off with it

I like the sound of that, as the only problem area now seems to be the front centre of the tank where I'm getting the algae on top of the soil!

Clive after taking your advice I made some more adjustments. I replaced the nano Koralia and the Koralia 1 with 2 x Koralia number 2's, I also shortened my spray bar which I believe has increased the flow of Co2

Well I can only go by what I know, I use the spray bar which goes the length of my tank, so therefor the bublles go that far...

mine comes through a long spray bar and fine bubbles get spread throughout the tank....miles better than the glass difussers

ok I've placed the other pump on the back wall...I will remove as much of the BGA as I can by hand and probably do a couple of extra 50% water changes over the nexk week, then see how we go from there! Co2 is on 24/7 now and lights are 8 hours a day

Been there done that....Nitrates are nearly treble what I started with, To be honest since I went 24/7 with the Co2 the tank has never looked better...I have 2 5kg f/e so I think I'll leave well alone for now. Thanks though!!

I had BGA and after a blackout I was ok for a while, alas it started coming back, I have taken the timer off my CO2 ans have it running 24/7 at a slightly slowe rate....day by day the BGA started going away....its now gone completely Think I will leave the timers off

after turning the co2 pressure down slightly the tubing has stopped coming off...will now try and gauge how long to leave the timer on to ensure the plants get enough co2

Yes I mean the UP atomiser but its only a couple of months old and is not showing any signs of dirt!

no I tried that just not pushing any CO2 through.....I turned the Co2 down and some is now getting through the spray bar, I'm going to leave it on 24/7 for a couple of days just in case its a timer issue (dont think it is though)

the flow going through the water pipes into the spraybar is fine.....but still blowing the pipe off the none return. Dont want to buy another if the problem could be something else....hoped someone could shed some light on this :crazy:

My Up Aqua has somehow got blocked....all looks ok but the pipe keeps blowing off from the none return valve....I have tried another valve with the same result.... Any idea how to unblock???

Thank you Tom If the calculator is right if I only add 50 ml 3 x a week this will give me 16.6pmm...I will slowly try to bring it down to this figure, I want to get rid of the BGA first. As already mentioned I have added extra flow and an Up Atomizer for hopefully better Co2.

I have increased the KNO3 to 65g in the 500ml bottle and I'm going to dose 75ml for a while to see if anything alters... Will this kill off the BGA or do I need to go down the blackout road???

Co2 is now going through the Up Atomizer and a fine mist is going evenly around the tank, I am adding some Python Git after water changes to see if we can beat this...I will try to increase the CO2 to its max without stressing the fish

I am kind of puzzled as to what it is I am doing wrong....I have bought 3 nerite snails at a time on three occasions now...they seem to be ok and then after a week or so they die, my latest 3 lasted a little longer this time but it looks like I'm down to my last one. Could it be too much co2...

Re: 570l tank - what was I thinking? If after a few times opening that lid you start finding some sawdust on top of your glass, change the screws in the hinges!!! I have a smaller one of these tanks with the same hood and all the back screws came/fell out.
