Same here, luckily I can persuade my dad to take any fish from me , for his tank. He's not too bothered as long as they are all community fish and FREE!

Watching the water pump back in is a simple pleasure but highly satisfying :D . You'll wonder why you've not done it before Chrisi. Just remember to turn the pump down a bit otherwise it tends to shoot out like niagara falls!

Hi Ceg, I'm afraid I was never going to achieve much when it came to science subjects. My path was clearly mapped out from an early age, lets just say I'm more artistic than academic.

Re: New 60x30x30 cm "Déjà, beaucoup de fois avant". As this scape develops I think it has the potential to be a real little cracker. It's got a really eerie feel to it, like a scene from amityville, that's meant in a good way! Maybe you could you put a dark background on it I think it would...

I agree with Garuf, 2ft tanks are just about perfect to work with. The dimensions lend themselves to virtually any layout. It's also a lot cheaper to stock than my 4ft tank.

I was thinking more along the lines of maybe immitating or replicating the British coastline or waterways when suggesting a new UK style. Of course finding plants that give a more western as opposed to eastern look may be a bit more difficult.

I agree with Dan, I have a rhinox 5000 in one tank and a 1000 in another, the latter courtesy of Nry (Chris), both are working splendidly.

I agree with Lisa, on the whole Greenline were good. On the plus side, plants were delivered on time and were well packaged and labelled, the quantities of each species ordered were correct and several had more than I'd ordered.On the negative side one group of plants was missing from the order...

Just to add to the above comments, the aquaball is a great internal filter. I've got the 2212 and the 3 sections are useful as you can alternate between rinsing the sponges, which I find do a superb job.

I prefer the second one aswell, it looks more natural and aesthetically more pleasing on the eye, especially the protruding piece at the front, a good focal point.

just as a matter of interest Graeme and Dave, I too bought the hygrophila corymbosa 'compact' from the GreenMachine ( a popular little blighter! ), about 4 weeks ago and it is growing well, it's doubled in size, probably more down to luck than judgement!

I bought one of my tanks on ebay and a heater cable was thrown in as part of the sale. To this day I have never used it, never saw the benefit in using it, and it's just another cable uglying up the tank! so my answer is nay.

The windelov fern looks spectacular, how long have you been growing it ? I wish mine looked that good. When the new plantlets form on the older leaves do you replant them on wood straight away or let them grow out ? also do you discard the older leaves once you have removed the new growth?

Sorry to butt into your thread Vase, but was just wondering , how long is eco complete good for? do the nutrients within the substrate eventually deplete over time? Likewise ADA Aquasoil and Akadama.
