I don't think its made that much difference....I honestly forget it is a bow-front until i look from the side. But its a very narrow tank and having the bow at the back definitely was a better idea than having it any other way as it gave me more room for planting and hardscape.
Plants!
Mixed up some watered down ADA ECA spray that i sprayed on the wood/rocks before gluing my moss down. In theory should help the moss root quicker.
Looking nice and spooky after its first fill :D
But I clearly didn't glue this down well enough.....rooky mistake
2 weeks...
OK its been a long ass time since I updated this thing. A lot has happened! Firstly things weren't getting enough CO2, the flow was poor so I lowered the light intensity for a month or so, swapped the diffuser and the outlet around and that fixed things. Growth is better, things are happier...
Got my frogbit ready for the tank when its up and running. Was growing it in my 55L but they were taking over so had to sit them in these boxes soaking up the light from the forest scape.
And the same with these fissidens and christmas moss I got from Geoff :)
The stuff I bought off of Geoff were fantastically looked after too ^_^ And very well packaged as well....took me about 40 minutes to unpack it all

Here it is! AG do 7.5kg bags of the same gravel too :)
And there is a gap between every branch and the glass :D i plan on buying longer scissors to maintain the plants on this one as i only have...
We do still have plenty of great millennium stone available so even if he did come back I do believe he would find what he is looking for :D
My pleasure buddy :) i look forward to seeing you again if that's what it comes to!
Progress! So I sold my old 170L AquaOne tank that was taking up room on the cabinet I wanted to use for this scape and put the bow front in its place! I bought my hardscape yesterday and got stuck in. This is my mix of juniper, gnarled manzy wood and millennium stone I have to work with.
I...
Hello! I was the colleague that helped you make your arch :D that's a real shame that the dimensions were wrong! Not sure how precious you are about your rocks but maybe try hammering them to get a better fit? If not, its always worth phoning the shop and asking what options you have :)
SO I did my first scape a few months ago and now I feel like I'm ready for my second! I have a very vivid idea of what I want to do. My plan is to do a forest diorama moss scape with a mix of woods and millennium stone.
I have a second hand bow fronted 80 litre tank to work with Ill be setting...
Some credit goes to you and steve for being my mentor ;) ill probably do a real journal for the next scape...instead of being lazy and doing it realllllyyy late...i just need to find the right wood.
I added the shrimp a few weeks after setup as advised by Steve and Geoff, shrimp are pretty hardy and I wasn't afraid of any ill effects from the water as I was doing daily 80% water changes the first week and a half. The snails I added not long after the shrimp when I started having algae...
Well this is an extremely late journal! I started this scape in September but am only now sharing this journal with all of you
Setup
So where do I start.... I bought this 55L Dennele off of Geoff a little while ago. The whole settup has a 250 Oase thermo filter, 450E Twinstar light...
No its a barren tank at the moment, my fiance hasn't figured out what he wants to do with it, it just has pond snails and assassin snails in it so no food is being added.
How was I to know you used your real name and not a username? ;)
I've had a quick look :D I have a better idea of what I'm doing now, I'm ready for plants! just need money first.
Simple question, can you use cotton to plug gaps between rocks to stop soil falling through? Or does it have to be a synthetic material? Cotton is all i have to hand at the moment.
Thank you!
Hello everyone, I've been keeping fish for years but never got into aquascaping until now as I always had fish that didn't agree with plants... But a friend/colleague (who introduced me to this place but i don't know his username) gave me this whole setup.
