I have the next situation. i keep losing shrimps in one of my tanks and i want to reset it. soil will be glasgarten environment soil. problem is i dont have any place to put the shrimps so i was thinking putin them in the same tank (after i change the akadama with the glasgarten environment...
had the same problem with po4 abosrbtion with my tropica soil...but no melting in the plants just green spot algae....after 1 month plants are starting to lose the green spot algae tho
i tried ammania bonsai in vitro also...it failed....got 2 stems from a friend that were not in vitro and they are growing nicely so far....even seen 2 side shoots....so yeah....sometimes in vitro just wont work
that's the whole purpose of the active substrate. to maintain a steady climate. the harder or let's say unclean the water placed in the tank the less lifespan the soil will have.
why are you frustrated. that kh and ph shows the soil is very good! I know fellow aquarists that will kill for them values ;). some of them run ph as low as 4.5 with no ill effects to fish. Seen it with my own eyes.
i am starting with the same substrate. 1 week in with it now. i am happy to...
using for 1 week now a new ISTA diffuser and it's pretty damn good in 300L. i've seen it working in 6 aquariums over 350liters big and it made me buy it :D
