    Im guessing Theres a chance the liquid in the bag will evaporate and once dry the bacteria in the substrate will die. I would wait. One of the drawbacks of Eco complete IMO that you dont get the time to play with your hard/dry scape.

    ceratophylum = Hornwort good to hear of every ones experiences, thanks! Ive never had any trouble keeping shrimps, and have also kept them with Anubias and Crypts and have never suffered any major losses. Just nice to be able to check with the UKAPS members. :)

    Cheers Graeme, I borrowed a freinds SLR for these pics and TBH didnt have a clue what I was doing. I messed with the camera settings and took loads of pics to come up with these. With a bit of cropping and a tweak of the contrast in MO picture manager I got a half decent result.

    ive known the 500 g jbl bottles to differ in length as some have flatter bottoms than others! Some fit in my cabinet others do not! when it didnt fit I laid it down :? Im guessing this was a bad move? never had any trouble though? I moved over to 2kg which now stands outside the cab.

    Hi Ark, I think it depends Which MA you shop at .... My local stocks Eco complete, Tropica, JBL, FLora base and Colombo!! I think most are stocking JBL (which Ive had good results with) They should be able to order you in any of the above!

    Best advice is to buy more than you will need (if poss) its useful to have different shapes and sizes to hand so you can play with different combinations. What you dont use in this scape you will use in another. This is where buying your rocks from your LFS rather than online can save you money...
