10ml for 80 litres weekly , But I would imagine you would add it according to how much uptake (plant biomass) you have.

Hi Paulo, Ive just started using aquamedic reactors and im sure I have them piped up with 16mm hose? im running them off Jbl cristalprofi 1500 filters, so far so good! you know where to find me if you want to see them in operation!

Im guessing Theres a chance the liquid in the bag will evaporate and once dry the bacteria in the substrate will die. I would wait. One of the drawbacks of Eco complete IMO that you dont get the time to play with your hard/dry scape.

ceratophylum = Hornwort good to hear of every ones experiences, thanks! Ive never had any trouble keeping shrimps, and have also kept them with Anubias and Crypts and have never suffered any major losses. Just nice to be able to check with the UKAPS members. :)

I been told that I should be careful with certain plants in my shrimp tanks. Ceratophylum, Cabomba , Anubias and cryptos can all apparantly be toxic to shrimps ?? I have kept Anubias and crypto in shrimp tanks before with no problem Anyone know if there is any truth in the above? Thanks

Cheers Graeme, I borrowed a freinds SLR for these pics and TBH didnt have a clue what I was doing. I messed with the camera settings and took loads of pics to come up with these. With a bit of cropping and a tweak of the contrast in MO picture manager I got a half decent result.

ive known the 500 g jbl bottles to differ in length as some have flatter bottoms than others! Some fit in my cabinet others do not! when it didnt fit I laid it down :? Im guessing this was a bad move? never had any trouble though? I moved over to 2kg which now stands outside the cab.

Cheers guys. Yeah Im quite proud of this one, Wished Id changed the white striated rock though as the judges pulled me up for it. Funnily enough I collected those rocks from the same beech except the one far right back corner.

Welcome Andrea, Nice aquascape ! I like the way the wood across the middle brings the two planted areas together.

Just photograph it and save it for next year! Theres one UK entry all ready :D I noticed the biotope section was a little lack lustre too .... but I was keeping that one to myself :lol: perhaps an Oppurtunity for a UK winner ??

Nice! I like the rocks, looks like the Alps. I think you should consider loosing the java fern and are those elastic bands holding the moss down? fishing line or cotton would be less obvious.

Hi Ark, I think it depends Which MA you shop at .... My local stocks Eco complete, Tropica, JBL, FLora base and Colombo!! I think most are stocking JBL (which Ive had good results with) They should be able to order you in any of the above!

Hi Nikko, Nice tank :) For me the transition from foreground to background could be a little less obvious. looks a little unatural how the two meet in a straight line right across the scape. The rounded rocks look like they could origionate from a fast flowing river, Eleocharis vivipara...

Best advice is to buy more than you will need (if poss) its useful to have different shapes and sizes to hand so you can play with different combinations. What you dont use in this scape you will use in another. This is where buying your rocks from your LFS rather than online can save you money...
