I think you may be thinking of Vallis? Balansae can get large with Co2. It is easily kept shorter by cutting the larger ‘stems‘ at the base. It is not as invasive as Vallis. Had it in a 60-P before with CO2, no problem. Without CO2 it stays quite compact as a background plant 👍

To get it all on nicely, heat the ends of the co2 tubing up for a good minute in freshly boiled water. It‘ll be nice and soft to get on the diffuser and glass. 👍😀

At 2 months in you can start adding nitrogen and iron. The leaves look very round, almost growing without co2. With your light and co2 the leaves should be small and pointy. Bang up the co2 👍

Ignore the co2 calculator, it is not very good. Blowing the photo up, it is hard to see but the drop checker solution looks spent. It will be worth putting fresh in (make sure the drop checker is absolutely completely dry before adding liquid, otherwise a drop of water can kill the solution)...

Never used Clarity but have used ReefFlowers version which was amazing. Currently using ADA Clear Water on a new scape. That takes it to another level.

I think the bacteria that lives in the media is more resistant than people give them credit. Might be very different in a overly stocked cichlid tank though. I’d be wary about washing that media under the tap for that tank. In a lightly stocked heavily planted havent encountered any issues.

Ignore the co2 table. Just go buy the drop checker (the table is not good). Too much co2 to begin with to get the plants used to being underwater. 😃

The more light you give the plants the more they will want to grow, increasing their demand for co2 - that you are not adding. All the extra light will do is show up deficiencies in the plant, leggy, pale, prone to algae and they’ll die. Hope that makes sense!

Try filling the drop checker more. Make sure it is bone dry when filled as any drop of water will kill the solution.
