'Java fern' is correct for a borneo biotope. A lot of cultivars we have are also found there naturally rather than being man made

One of my guys is reluctant to touch it. It's a perfectly legitimate export but a lot of orchids are protected where he is from so he normally leaves well alone. I'll grab an extra for you if anyone comes through. Got some cool ferns coming next week. Hopefully they travel well :)

I've had monte carlo in the tank before that did well. Very slow as you would imagine but healthy and compact. I can increase light if needs be but I like slow and healthy growth. Easy to manage rather than weekly trims :)

Any recommendations for low light stems? Currently at 0.3 WPG over a 70cm depth. Cabomba and ludwigia repens are doing very well for me. Low tech of course.

I find planted in a rich substrate increases growth above all else. Access to the nutrients in the soil and the water column ;)

I've had success with other seeds (echinodorus, bucephalandra and eriocaulon) using a thin layer of a muji cotton pad on top of aquasoil. It's sold for vaping which is why I had I but it's great at wicking water and nutrients without getting saturated Might join you with the utricularias soon :)

Yeh humidity. Grows well emersed planted into moss or aquasoil (even play sand). I don't mist them at all now and they grow nice coloured leaves contrary to popular belief. I'm going try letting some grow out of the water on their own in a tank and see if they adapt better

Dean that's correct. Even of they are available to collect they are left in favour of the emergent plants as they are easier to ship :)

Just a little experiment to see how emersed bucephalandra 'ghost' will do uncovered at room humidity. Roots and rhizome are in moss as it will wick the water nicely if I forget to top it up for a day or two. I already know they do well with no heating, I've had them down to 12'c with no issues...

Way to cloudy for good photos but here is how it stands at the minute. Plenty more to go in when I add some height with hardscape. The java ferns are coming out and will be replaced with more buce and some rarer ferns. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

You may find all the submerged growth will hold that leaf pattern if it is variegated :)

I wander how the amazonensis would interact with typical dwarf shrimp. They are something I'd absolutely love to own but I'm struggling for space :(

Wouldn't waste your money. I use an active substrate and that's the only expensive thing that goes in the tank. They get fed on soya bean pellets, dandilions and nettles :)

How are the amazoniensis to keep? What parameters are you keeping? I can get hold of them but they seem like they will be a pita
