    250 liters* substrate advice

corydoras generally 'do not' do well with a gravel substrate and most people who keep them use a sand substrate. who invited this guy?!

It could be planarian worms ( flatworms ) if they are they could pose a problem - copper based treatments work but the dead bodies can pollute a tank very quickly, they reproduce fast and are cannibalistic as well as attacking small shrimps

Hmm a little concerned about my new (second hand) Eheim 2317 filter.

If the previous owner had wrapped foil around the fuse would lead me to think there was a problem with filter blowing fuses, try running with the correct rate fuse should not be 13 amp more like a 3 amp or 5 amp fuse and see if if it blows

How many Discus in a 300l planted tank

    Acrylic tank sizes?

No m8 you need to bond it together with acrylic cement the edges must be perfectly flat and square, you apply the cement using capillary action with a syringe and do both sides of the joint with no air bubbles and you have to be very quick to keep the joint wet, if you don't bond it correctly it...

    Acrylic tank sizes?

I have built a couple of acrylic tanks a while back, you need to use 'cell cast ' acrylic and not extruded acrylic, for the proposed size of 45cm height you should be using 12mm and to be super safe 19mm, i would always go super safe and use the thicker 19mm acrylic - hth

    Be Warned!

I thought the same about the filter built in the back of the tank, that internal filter that comes with the tank now is a eye sore and takes up too much room in the tank, its still a nice tank tho. It I'll be nice to see it when you have scaped it --- good luck :)

    Changing from gravel to sand.

I'm using both tropica growth substrate and tropica soil on to top and have been doing twice weekly water changes about 40% each time because of the soil leaching ammonia but i think you will be ok with the substrate and sand on top, but i would test the water every day for while to be safe.
