The problem is not your creation of a harbor. It is the uniformity of the size of your rocks in the wall. When they all look the same, it looks like a brick wall, disrupting the continuity of the layout, with or without stone. Your need to either get some larger rocks (that match) or break up...

The rock placement does not look very natural to me. To improve the look, just tumble rock into place. That makes scaping look more natural. Also use rock of various sizes. Not exactly sure what the goal of your tank is... but just some insights [emoji4]. Can't wait to see the full build. Sent...

You're center stone is vertical. I would angle it to the right pointing to the front glass. Similarly, I would add a stone pointing from the left to the right, except it would be on the ground. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks a bunch! I literally had no money, so I collected all the pieces from older tanks, and other forum members and places like that. Proves that one, without funds, can still find somewhat of a way to surpass obstacles like lack of materials to work with.

I don't live in the UK, but that looks like a cool water change thing!! I wish I had one. Here in the US, there are special faucet adapters you can purchase at hardware stores. I would check at one of those.

Planning out the tank is fun. I plan on using it as an experimental tank for a bunch of different stems. I will have dirt with a sand cap in the front, and the aquasoil in the back.

Cool! I actually live in Portland, Oregon, USA, so I don't have access to ADC. Rather, I shop at "The Wet Spot Tropical Fish", and they sell each for 5 USD, which is a great price for a dwarf cichlid. Usually, they range from 20-30 dollars. I love the way the A. Baenschi look!

Thanks for the compliment! I will have access to the tank during school holidays for maintenance and water changes. I am currently doing the water test, and everything is looking good. I still need to receive some substrate I ordered, so hopefully it arrives by Tuesday so I can start the tank.

With discus, I don't know. Detritus and other muck will be trapped under the plants and increase organic waste in the water column. I am not a discus expert, so I am not sure if that would negatively affect the fish or not. If I didn't care about the fish, I would stuff the hell out of that tank...
