    Hills with Ada Amazonia

Hi guys! I am thinking on doing a reset on my tank. I am using now Ada Amazonia, and i intend to use the same substrate on my next setup. The question is how can I build some hills and slope from amazonia in order not to colapse in time. I am wondering if some of you guys already did that. Thanks!

    120x50x50 first high-tech aquarium

Besides Ian said, about the flow, I assume you will need the second filter in order to have enough filter material to brake down amonia. Which substrate will you use?

    Roots and Grit

You welcome my friend. I always seem to have brown algae and after firsts weeks of the life setup, they turned into GSA. So i suspected its a light issue

My journal for dealing with BBA

Yes limz_777, my tank is still runnig and it;s runnig very well i think. this is the clearest and algae free tank i ever had. in my 10 years aquascaping experience i discover that: CO2 is involved in BBA, as I said before, but i never experienced what you said to introduce BBA in a established...

    Roots and Grit

Alex, you might have too much light, that is the cause of brown algae, if we assume that the filter is cycled. I was having the same problem until i raise the lamp height above 55cm over the top of the tank

My journal for dealing with BBA

i think it is too high. under the light plant starts to rot and roting process brings more amonia in to the water and increses the chance of getting algae. the rotting increses along side water temperature.

My journal for dealing with BBA

I quite struggled in the past in creating such beautiful and healthy tanks that i used to see over the internet in international contests, since 1 year ago when i paied a visit to the guys from Green Aqua in Budapest and they told me some.... i dont know how to call them: rules, principles of...

My journal for dealing with BBA

Light intensity or water chanages will have nothing to do with the BBA. BBA, as other black algae, like staghorn, are directly the consequences of bad co2 management. This involves 2 things: too little co2 level or bad distribution in water mass. I used to have the same problem as you have, til...

i have been in the hobby, except aquariums that we all have in the childhood, for about 5 years. i do believe that filtration is the heart of the aquarium so that's why i have those filtres. yes, it's true that i have small bio load, but never forget that the most important part of NH4 in the...

How many litres of Eheim Substrat Pro

I do have eheim 2078 which i believe is similar to your 2178, except the heater. i filled it up with 8 litres of matrix, but i believe that matrix have a bigger grane than substrate pro, so i believe you would need more than 8 litres.
