    Liquid co2? 100 gallon...

I have used a DIY CO2 before I went full FE setup. Personally I wise I had just done it and not wasted my money on half measures. My regulator is off eBay for £35, timer £10 and 2kg FE £8. Lasts about 3 months in my 350l tank. (With ph controller) Works a lot better than liquid carbon, and it's...

    Would this work?

I have a sump pump setup, have used the inline defuses etc, and at the moment I just use a atomiser in front of the return pump, so the micro bubbles are pulled into the pump. For me it works as good if not better than in inline. Plus no cutter or drilling required and easier to clean the...

    CO2 PH monitor setup

Yes, I use a drop checker as well, it stays green so I know my CO2 level is fine. No algae and plants are heathy etc. I have put the ph controller to n a timer. It comes on about an hour before lights. I'm not home during the day so don't know when it reaches the set level, but I did a test and...

    CO2 PH monitor setup

Ok thanks, have put it on a timers will see how it's does. It's setup with an atomiser via the return pump, so 1 hrs should be enough. Don't have a counter on it but it's quite high. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    CO2 PH monitor setup

I have a general question. I have a PH Controller that controls my ph level to drop by 1. Im currently running that 24/7. Should i change this to just come on before lights on and save the CO2, or should i just leave it as it is, because its better for plants and fish to maintain a constant...

    Aquascape / substrate question

Hey all, This is quite a simple question; I am just getting to setup a second tank for shrimp. (Have parked my big tank until I break it down and move it to decorate, at which point I will then re-plant and re-scape) So, I have a Aquaone 40 (that’s a 55l), it’s a really nice looking tank...

    Water Change

Hi all, So I’m hoping someone can provide me some more insight into why we need to do a weekly water change. I know everyone says you need to do between 25 to 50% water change weekly, but for me I want to know why, I am trying to understand why we need to do this. Before I go any further I...

    PH Electrode

Hi all, I have just purchased a second hand JBL PH controller. However the electrode was allowed to dry out so it think it needs replacing. ( I did know this before I got it) Been looking at the Ebay ones for £15 but I thinking they won't last 6 months. Can anyone recommend a good...

    Low CO2

Drop checker is a pre-mixed, so i would have to assume so. And it take about 4+ hours for the checker to turn green. Looking at a ph controller for the co2 so it doesn't go off overnight Just did a recount and not sure if i miss counted / the atomiser is blocked or valve is faulty but bubble...

How to use a PLC to control your fish tank.

Great writeup ian, i have been looking for something like this for some time now added to Christmas List (if i can wait that long). Have looked at using my RPI to control relays etc, but was going to take more time to build than i can spare. My only question is, how can i intergrate the PH...

    Low CO2

OK a quick update, Turned the CO2 back up, as the indicator dropped to light blue again. Discoverer in that despite opening the valve more (passed 8BPS), the bubble count didn’t change. Guessing the Atomiser has reached the point where it cannot push anymore CO2 thought without increasing the...

    Low CO2

Thanks, i was under the impression that the inline atomisers meant you didn't get fizzy effect. Good to know this is normal and im not overloading the diffuser. I have just been using the blue/green/yellow indicator, i have some 6 in 1 pens so will give them a go to see the drop. I know my...
