    Aquariums with built in filters?

Im happy with my all in one set ups (fluval spec v & betta duo) hidden heater is a bonus - however both tanks are v.small (19/20l) I really want to try a Fluval Flex though! https://reefbuilders.com/2016/07/11/fluval-flex-tanks-brings-a-new-perspective-to-small-aquariums/

Hi & Welcome to ukaps ☺ Sounds an exciting project!
  18. Manisha

    made a schedule... comments please

I don't use co2 myself but think that using co2 constantly won't achieve a consistent pH because when your lights are off, the plants won't use the co2 but will respire as normal meaning higher co2 levels than during the photoperiod when plants will be using co2?

Should I be dosing my low tech?

I like using TNC Complete for my low tech without co2 but you can use other brands or mix your own dry salts if you'd prefer? Though when I started my planted tanks I used aquasoil & was unsure how to introduce a fertilising regime in my low tech. I tried adding Tropica premium (trace nutrients)...

    1st Planted Tank growth

I think when your viewing from the front, if you try to trim below the line of hardscape it looks more natural (as you can't see where the stem splits in two!) although I've cabomba stems in the foreground of a tank & can't do that, so just trim the top where I want the plant line to finish -...

Sorry about you bad experience with dragon stone. I've not used it but have found a similar effect when using aquasoil - dust everywhere for ages! Hi, how's it going? I run a low tech big & small tank & think 6 hours should be fine to begin with so I don't think increasing from 4 - 6 hours after a couple of weeks should be a problem! Staurogyne Repens suffering!

Hi, Just to add yet another opinion..! If you bought your Staurogyne repens as a pot, it may have thrived in the first few weeks using its stored energy & I'd hazard a guess that explains it's sudden decline now. So I think conditions for it might never have been optimum because of this. The...

Hi, I've a Roma 240 too with stock lighting t8 too. Mr Hindley is correct - kelvin is a measure of colour temperature not spectrum & doesn't affect plant growth - we choose this based on what is most 'appealing to our eyes. The best way to increase output of t8 bulbs is to add reflectors (or...

Will filter bacteria survive and function under 6 Ph?

Best place to get large amano shrimp

Typical! I guess it depends how 'big' you want & if your willing to wait? I think the larger ones can be alot greedier so are less forgiving if you have any struggling plants - so that's an advantage to getting smaller ones!
