    Succulent planter

It looks really good! I'd love to do something like this, but would be concerned about overcrowding and the plants outcompeting each other. I had a bowl with a Haworthia and something else (looked like a Crassula of some kind) together. Over two years, the Haworthia's leaves got a big bigger...

    The Lovely World of Bucephalandra!

They're 'Aquafleur' ones! If I remember rightly, the LFS often just request a bunch of plants and sell what their suppliers send (theres been things there which patently aren't aquatic species, and I always feel a bit cheeky pointing that out!) So perhaps the cost to them is absorbed in that...

    The Lovely World of Bucephalandra!

I just came across some 'green velvet' bucephalandra at my LFS for what seems like a steal. £3.99 — same as their other potted plants. "Are you sure you've priced these right?" "Yes—I can charge you more if you'd like." "Ahahaha, no, that's fine." My tank's low tech, and I'm preparing to plant...

    ΙKEA PLANTS.

I wish my nearest IKEA sold aquarium plants! I've never seen anything like it when I've shopped there. (And usually family is bored by the time we get to the bit with the plants and I get dragged through because they know my propensity being weak-willed with my money around chlorophyl...)

    Show your orchids!

I could wriggle round some things on the bathroom windowsill! I've got some ferns there at the moment, but it needs a tidy! Also, the window there is rarely open. I'll have a look at those!

    Show your orchids!

Wow, great thread! Lots of lovely photos. I started acquiring (and killing a few) houseplants a few years ago, and now seem to be getting the knack of it. I mainly stick to succulents, but in the last year have branched out to a few foliage species, and a month or so ago finally bit my tongue...

    Best way to eBay/sell shrimp

If I were in your shoes I'd try selling through a Facebook group first, simply for the ease of collection/delivery. But I have seen plenty of people posting shrimp.

    Endler x Guppy hybrid experiment

I set my tank up originally for four blonde female endlers, and two black bar endler males, and ended up with endless fish... But it was abundantly clear, at least on the mothers' side, that the fish were hybrids. They did produce some really pretty offspring though: (Please excuse the gross...

What other hobby's do you have?

I've started collecting houseplants and seem to be making a subconscious effort to turn my living spaces into a jungle! In some respects, planting my fish tank was the act that kicked this off. I guess I can call walking our dogs a hobby! As a family, we also forage for sloes and Mum makes sloe...

I'll scout out your journal then! Also watched a couple of the liquorice gourami videos—pretty little gems! I have vague plans of keeping sparkling gourami in the future.

I'd love to see more of your betta! I saw the channoides breeding video, and felt a bit of a green-eyed monster. As mentioned, I'm a novice and only familiar with Splendens, but the betta family has so many gorgeous fish!

Thank you Alto! I was actually in the process of nosing around the search function looking to see if anyone had used the tanks! I have... hygrophila guanensis I picked up on a whim (not the best approach, and I took a list of low-light plants with me last time I went to my local Maidenhead...

Hi everyone! I've signed up because I'm finally planting up a low-tech tank with something other than Java fern, moss, anubias, and mossballs. I'm a novice/enthusiast looking for advice and plant sources. =) I'm in charge of two Superfish LED tanks — a 30 litre and a 70 litre. I'm going to...
