how positioning a plant over a rock?

Not sure it looks like wood to me. Theres so many way to attach plants since they basically grow hydroponically in a high tech tank ,they really dont need a substrate.

How to get rid of algae on fluorite?

I've had beard algae grow on fluorite ,its attracted to the iron from what I've researched. Anyways ive tried cleaning it off with no luck ,what i did was put a dirt cap over it . Other option is to scoop it out and boil it :(

What in your opinion is the best tip to succeed

Follow the golden rules! (for A high tech) Good light spread not really too strong 8hrs or so ,good turnover rate make sure your flow reaches the bottom(trim plants to allow for this),use dirt if possible makes up for lack of nutrients,at least 1 bubble per second co2 injection followed with 50%...

Hole in the leaves despite EI dosing. What's missing?

I tend to agree, because I've been looking at my plant and the lower thick portions are very dark and grow well . Poor flow or turnover and lack of carbon is my guess.

    Recommendations on a new tank

Led is still in its infancy .Im using t5 ho's and the one led I do have is reduced 50% as not to induce algae growth.I do have lots of cheap led paper weights:( If you choose led buy high end with dimmer and color variable options .

I'm pretty sure thats a co2 deficiency or a nutrient . However im no expert . Your Wisteria looks very poor indeed It should have nice division in the leave (not sure what its called) In good conditions the full leaves start to divide. Try dosing daily since I have my Wisteria looks text book...

Why are there no "monster" planted tanks ?

From my own experience with a 125 gallon ... First would be cost if you wanted a nice looking high tech second would be maintenance. When a Giant planted tank goes of balance. For example if you had a algae outbreak, it could take a complete tear down to fix and start over. Another is I have to...

I Tried working off the side in my large tank and the setup ended poorly. For example I had two filters with the heads at the corners, and 2 water jets pushing the flow around, and a pump with a reactor. the result was melted plants in dense corners etc. I Now use one filter with a spray bar...

    16 dKH Discus?

http://www.discusnada.org/category/discus-101/all-about-water/ Quote from link ---Domestic discus can be kept in soft to moderately hard water (GH 3 to GH 14). Most discus are raised in a pH above 7 and many hobbyists report success with a pH of 8.5 or higher.
  37. drodgers

    16 dKH Discus?

16° is not to bad its only moderate hard. I've been keeping fish at 28° hard water they seem to adapt well and as plug the stable water is better in the long run. I think Discus refuse to breed unless you provide them a acidic home.
