Believe me I tried to sell it to the wife. She was on board until she heard that it was in early March....the weather made it a no go. And then she brought up the fact that she wanted to go for the Olympics and I blew it off....sigh...
Glad to hear video is a maybe! So hoping you all can...
This event looks spectacular. I'm crushed as I wont be there as 4000 miles is a bit too far to reach for the day. Maybe someone can give me a lift there? Please tell me there will be a video available?
Looking good dantrasy. Based on your inspiration i think the contrast is what you want. My 2 cents is to go for it with the wallichii maybe even interweaving the two just a bit along those lines. The gaps between you upper rocks showing the sp green from the side may be what is bothering...
This is really is a great idea and an awesome scape. One thing i also noticed with the last photo was that your towers looked awesome from that angle taken from the right side of the tank. In the straight on fts the two middle towers ended up so close together and hurt the perspective a bit...
Nice idea for a video. Dont see too many on how to properly clean an aquascape. Well done.
I know you love your red colander and all but have you thought about getting a python???
Your plants are outstanding. Im thinking that the photos are not doing this tank justice. Thanks for sharing! Would love to see some earlier photos showing the hardscape and planting.
In my experience you will be better off just using soil as normal and skip the socks for this scape. Just make sure your big rocks are supported all the way down to the bottom glass.
That is one of many great scapes by Robertus and is named "Cove". He has hardscape photos during the setup if you search for them on Aquascaping World. They are a lot of very large rocks lined up in a V shape and then filled in with smaller rocks in front.
Hope that helps.
I really like your photos from the corner and above the tank. Really gives a good look at the aquascape and tank as a whole as you see it. Ill have to add this angle next time I pull out the camera.
Yes I do keep the substrate very thin toward the front glass. Especially sand which is usually less than 1/2 inch...i mean 1.5 cm. I am very careful to keep the soil and sand from mixing. My method is to use the hardscape stones and then come back in with slate chips to line any areas not...
Hi. My name is Jeff and Ive been posting on Planted Tank for a while now and decided to participate on this forum as well. My posts are under the same name on both sites. Had the pleasure of meeting George Farmer and Emma while they were in the USA for the AGA Convention last month. His...
Just created an account just to post that this same exact thing happens with mine. Ive resorted to placing the plates vertically so the bubbles dont trap under the plate. Ive been running it about two weeks.
